Wanted something to fill me up before a hike. Loved this place. Very soothing with great art and a zen-like ambience. Coffee was smooth; and my grilled peanut butter with honey sandwich on thick bread was divine! Also liked the proximity to Second Gear next door. Had never thought to stop here before - but definitely on my list of repeat things to do in West Asheville !
444 Gallery Cafe has become one of my all time favorite restaurants in Asheville. The food is consistent, simple osteria food. I often order the appetizing Michelangelo (Italian Grinder) specialty sandwich, though anyone of their fresh grilled Panini sandwiches with a side of potato salad are also especially yummy.
The cafe is very relaxed and a wonderful place to meet friends or for business meetings. I actually, got to host an after hours business meeting that 444 Gallery Cafe catered - the staff at Gallery Cafe really did a great job to ensure my meeting was a huge success. Everyone who attended the meeting raved about the food, dessert and coffee choices.
The cafe also has a large parking lot, that made parking easy and safe. I can't wait to eat there again, and certainly recommend Gallery Cafe for breakfast, lunch or special event catering.
Just found this place this morning, great for breakfast all day or for a gourmet sub. Very inventive idea, the place is a local arts, crafts and gift gallery with a comy little couch area to relax in or use thier free wi-fi. The subs are huge and made with local ingredients. I had the 1/2 soup and sandwich deal, and what a deal, I got a full bowl of chicken soup and half a chicken salad sandwich on wheat for only $5.95. I also got a slice of thier hummingbird cake, OMG it was good and only $3.95 for a slice. Coming back soon.
What a find! They are a snall cafe and local art gallery in East West Asheville that serves breakfast and lunch. We each had a sandwich and a side. Mine the "The Michealangelo" was an Italian grinder that was just to big to finish. Piles of meat and veggies! Great combo of flavors. My friend had the "El Grecco" a turkey, spinach, feta, tomato and olive wrap pressed on a panini grill. I was not allowed to even have a bite as he said it was just "too good" . Our sides were homemade potato salad and Mom's cole slaw. Both just amazing.
The service was very friendly and attentive. A very relaxed atomsphere as well.
The gallery section is made up of all local artist and the prices are very reasonable. I even picked up a birthday gift and earrings for under $20.
If you are in the area stop by you will not be dissappointed. I know we will be back. We will try breakfast next time. Which they serve all day.
