Now under new ownership, Maggie Valley Gem Mine has been taken over by Rock-N-Roll Ink. ...And the Rock-N-Roll crew have something for you! We have changed the name of the rock shop to "Rockin’ Rock Shop, and we have added Photography on the Roll. What is up with all the changes? I am glad you asked... Rockin' Rock Shop offers a variety of gemstones, rocks, minerals, fossils, and some very unique jewelry (crafted from local artists). We also have other items available to accommodate a wide budget range. But, what is a Rockin' Rock Shop without something on the Roll? Presenting... Dut-da-da-da... "Photography on the Roll". It is photography gone mobile. We offer old time photos, glamour shots, group and event photography, wedding photography, and sooooo much more. Here in the mountains things don't always happen in a studio. With all the natural beauty around us, we knew that others would need our services wherever they may wander. So, at "Photography on the Roll" we went mobile. Yes, we have the saloon for the old time photos, and we went further, we built a real covered wagon for a charming covered wagon photo shot. We also have a parlor for our studio shots. However, here in the mountains, nature provides one of the best backdrops available. We have mobile rates low enough to photograph your group wherever you may roam. We have gone as far as Cades Cove, TN to photograph large groups (mileage charged over 20 miles). We are "On The Roll. to accommodate your group or special event! There truly is something for everyone at Maggie Valley Gem Mine, Rockin’ Rock Shop & Photography on the Roll

I came to this place because of an unsettling experience at one of their competitors involving a pandora purchase. As I entered I was greeted by a very friendly woman who asked me how she could help me. I told her why I was here and she told me that all the pandora jewelry was upstairs. We went upstairs and she immediately asked me what I was interested in. I told her of my bad experience with one of their competitors and she said that she was very sorry that that had happened to me and assured me that it wouldn't happen there. She showed me at least 25 different charms for my bracelet and showed me how it worked and how many different designs there were. She also showed me her own bracelet and told me the story behind it, like a scrapbook. She was so funny and comfortable with me! I made my purchase; which was only $30 + tax and as I left, I felt like I had just bought the most expensive diamond in the store. She and the rest of the staff were GREAT. I will only use them for all my jewelry needs from now on!
My wife & I have been shopping at Reunions for years (even before they moved to Asheville from Black Mountain)...They have great prices & really unique & beautiful things come from their shop...All of the best items in our home have come from them..People are always complementing us...We have purchased a number of 1940's era pieces (2 of which are rare birdseye maple)...The latest was a birdseye maple wardrobe which looked as if the Vanderbilts owned it...we weren't planning on getting it as we came for a heavy butcher-block kitchen table..when we saw it Carolyn even allowed us to put it on layaway and held it at the store for us...we made several cash payments to her all with the greatest of ease...Carolyn & her son are so helpful...at times giving detailed info about how to care for the antiques...not to mention help loading the items...what a nice store...what is not to like...we will be back for more items we have our eye on.
