I love this family owned restaurant that gets food to customers quickly and uses traditional recipes. The salsa is good and the chips are served warm. They do not serve alcoholic beverages and they take the entire month of September off for vacation. It is good, fast, inexpensive Mexican food that everyone will love served in a clean environment by decent waiters.
When they first opened, Alamos Verdes was great and they had little competition. Since that time, the competition has increased, but Alamos has not kept pace. The food is not bad, but the overall cleanliness of the restaurant needs improvement. It is a nice, family restaurant, but it could be so much better.
Just had a nice lunch consisting of the green chili platter. All I can say is that it was awesome.
