Highlander Motel

We are frugal senior citizens who love to travel - we are frugal by choice and appreciate good value. We stayed a week at the Highlander Motel and we concur with ALL the positive reviews - it is clean, comfortable beds, in a safe neighborhood, close to bus and Metro stops, substantial continental breakfast, and super nice staff! We rode the bus to the Rosslyn Commuter Store to apply for Senior SmartTrip Cards and used the metro, bus and Circulator bus extensively. We liked the Peruvian rotisserie chicken at El Pollo Rico - a short walk away. We would definitely stay here again.

Although the motel is an older property, it had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. There are lots of great places to eat within walking distance. Enjoy.

We needed a reasonably priced motel to stay, while working in DC. The Highlander is a family owned motel that had very good reviews on Tripadvisor- we were not steared wrong.. The motel is in a safe part of town, within walking distance of many restaurants. The bathroom was renovated and had one of the best shower heads and water pressure for a motel. Free parking, We'll be back.

Clean rooms and lobby. Comfortable beds. Continental breakfast in the lobby. Friendly staff. Free Wi-fi and parking. There is always someone at the front desk to answer your questions. Great location between Ballston Commons and Rosslyn.

We had relatives coming to town and once again turned to this fine neighborhood motel to provide extra rooms. The upgraded cozy bedding and spotlessly clean bathrooms made everyone happy and comfortable. A small problem with one of the rooms was solved promptly and pleasantly. We recommend this hidden gem to everyone!

After reading some of the reviews on here I wasn't to excited to stay here but I figured for the price it was worth it upose to paying 300$ per night in DC. All I have to say is how wrong the reviews were that talked negative , i was given a perfect little room that slept both me and a family member comfortably for 4 days and 3 nights , it was very clean and the maids came daily to vacuum/make beds and get anything that was needed such as soap an toothpaste , the walk in shower was surprising to me an after long days of walking around DC it was so relaxing to sit in the huge shower and just relaxxxx, I greatly recommend this motel to anyone who isn't worried about prestigious hotels with crazy inclusive things, after all it's just a place to sleep.. And a FYI, taxi from hotel to DOWNTOWN DC where museums are is 15-19$ depending on traffic.

My sister and I just spent four nights at the Highlander Motor Inn. It was just as described in the reviews I had read. The rooms were clean, the beds were comfortable, and it was located in a very convenient place. The people at the desk were very helpful. We were pleasantly surprised to find that we had a refrigerator in our room. The continental breakfast was pastries and such, but there was fresh fruit and bagels with cream cheese. I would recommend this to someone looking for an inexpensive place to stay just outside of DC. I would definitely stay there again.

A good place to stay if you want clean, comfort, cheap near the metro stop into Washington DC. Includes continental breakfast and GREAT motel hosts. Family owned and run. The pictures don't do this place justice. If you are there for the sights and don't intend to spend a lot of time in your hotel room, this is the place.
