Brick City

Don't expect courteous attitude from employees (in my case the manager AND the store OWNER) or accurate information.



After asking to return an item, I was told that because I had purchased a sale item I could only exchange it or accept store credit. Neither option was acceptable and I asked employee for contact information for a manager. Said employee refused me the information saying he was the manager and had authority to deny my request for an outright refund. I asked his name and he refused to give it. Further, he refused to give me manager's name or contact information. The exchange between us went on and employee/manager finally agreed to give me a refund but kept saying "you break rule, you break rule". He said I was mean and that he was going to break store policy but that I was not ever to come into HIS store again. Next a second fellow comes forward and asks what's happening. He says he's the assistant manager. I told him I wanted a documented return receipt for the amount I was refunded (I had used a debit card and wanted documentation of return for accounting purposes) but that the manager refused to give me one. The assistant manager provided one but not before they exchanged words in their native language directly in front of me. I took the refund and my return receipt and left the store. Today, I followed up with attempts to contact corporate office. I was unable to locate such office on line and I called the Brick City in Irving Mall hoping to get info there. Surprise, surprise. The same "assistant manager" that I dealt with yesterday at the Parks answered the phone. Now he told me he is not the assistant manager but is the store owner. Said his name is Willie and that he is responsible for both stores. He added that Brick City is not a franchise. When I asked him why he told me he was an assistant manager instead of store owner he gave a rather weak reply... he was very busy when I was in the store .



That first fellow will get his wish. I will not shop in Brick City again.
