All I can say is WOW!! This place is so quaint and fun for a cake shop! I purchased a wedding cake from Calling All Cakes recently and let's just say there was none left to take home. The guests devoured it! On top of having a great tasting product, the owner/designer is the crown jewel of this place. She is so friendly and helpful throughout the entire process. You get to have private tastings where you actually get to custom build your cake from the ground up. She has Styrofoam cakes you actually build with so you can see what your cake shape and size will be before you leave the appointment (how cool is that?). None of the other places we tasted cakes at offered that. As far as the designs go, she has tons of pictures and examples of anything you can think of. You get free reign of an IPAD that has all of her pictures on it. You can pull designs and colors from anywhere to piece together your favorites. I really had a blast with my family and fiancé during the appointment. Overall: Amazing! And I will be purchasing cakes from her every chance I get. Don't miss out on this hidden secret in North Arlington. I don't think it will be a secret for long!
This bakery is very good, they have some really yummy cakes, I bought my fiances birthday cake from here and wanted it to be decorated with Dallas Cowboys art, they did a great job and drew a Cowboys helmet, star and all... all the grocery stores had new clue how to draw a helmet nor did any of them carry silver icing. I was pretty impressed with their work and it was done exactly when promised. The only reason i gave them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they are a little more pricey then your regular grocery store, considering for a sheet cake that serves 15-18 people I paid $27.99 at this bakery (there more reasonablly priced if you dont want elaborate art work done on the cake) they are only $16.99-19.99 at the grocery store, but I wanted this cake to be special. So if you can justify spending the extra $10-12 on a cake then this is a great place to go, one great thing is that there wont be any left over and everyone will ask you where you got it from...they also make REALLy pretty wedding cakes and have pretty descent prices on them as well, I am getting married April 18th of next year and i have already found my bakery for my wedding cakes. =)
i just realized when searching for something that katys icing on the cake has no reviews. last year my niece was getting married at my parents home, my mother and i decided to order a relatively small wedding cake in comparison to most . after being recommended by a neighbor of my moms we went to kathys. i was impressed with the personal touch while we were selecting a cake for the event. we were treated so well even though looking for a small, simple cake. the price was another wonderful surprise as well. around 80.00 for a 2 tiered cake of course white with a filling . you can spend this at a grocery bakery on a custom cake . the cake was delivered on time set up perfectly for the wedding and everyone raved about how good this cake was. i am getting ready to have to order a cake for my step daughters 16th birthday and i am calling kathys to make this cake. it is not highly visible in its location, but most definitely worth the drive on green oaks to get to it.
