Pet Adoption And More
THIS PLACE IS A JOKE>>>I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS BUILDING AGAIN! I dont think there is one animal loving in the joint. NOT to mention the innocent dogs they put dog everyday. RETHINK before surrendering a dog here and save as many as you can!
Is there a way to give this place 0 stars? I have had so many problems with the Fox Valley Humane Association in the past week that it is infuriating. It started when my 2 golden retrievers wandered off due to a flaw in our underground invisible fence. We didn't have tags for them since they bit them off each other's collars in the past. Anyway, someone turned them into the FVHA and we found out 3 days later. My sister called and found out that the cost would be $99 per dog and in order to obtain them we were forced to get rabies shots for them...which meant she had to wait 3 more days to get our dogs back. I called the humane society to argue their policy and the woman on the phone (I believe her name was Jill, or at least it started with a J) was extremely rude. She seemed to be ignoring me until I prompted her to respond. So eventually I just hung up. My sister went through such a hassle to get the dogs back and as she was taking them home, she realized their expensive collars (that go with the invisible fence) were missing. The shelter volunteers/employees couldn't seem to locate them and claimed the dogs didn't have them even though it said on the papers that they recorded the color of the collar upon obtaining the dogs. My sister also found that the shelter kept my two dogs (who are siblings) apart during their stay and would not let them play together. Since the FVHA was unhelpful on the phone, I left a message on their facebook page, which was promptly removed despite using no offensive language. I then emailed them and it seems that they chose to ignore the email as well. If they aren't willing to own up to their INHUMANE practices and try to keep pets from their true owners in order to make a profit off selling them to new owners, this humane association should be removed from the community as soon as possible. They only cause more harm to the very people and animals they should be serving.
There was six ratings on this site and I see only three listed. Where are the othere three. All wanted a zero star listed. They are notorious for putting found pets down without the owners given a chance to get their pets back, and or told their pets were found and turned in. How sad but I have heard this rumor for years, in fact I will one up you and even heard of owners who surrendered their pets and tell then not to put them down if they are not adopted because they will take them back and before they are home they will change their minds about the pet and come right back and the dog/cat is already put down. How is that for giving a pet a chance? That is heartbreading. That was the day I started to stop donating to them and right after the human society went after someone else who complained about them and their tactics and they retailiated by taking their pets away and said they were a puppy miller. My Friend just adopted a cat from them and asked me to check the cat before she took it. I said I would. She signed the papers and was ready. I looked at the cat and said no way. Have the vet come out here and look at the cats eyes. One of them was infected. The vet came out and without even looking at the cats eye, said he had a cold. Did not even touch the cat. I said the eye was draining green. It is infected and it is not from a cold. We will be removing the eye next week and the FVHA will not call. They said we should have had a VET look at it within 7 days of receiving the cat. We had their VET look at it within 7 seconds of receiving the cat. Someone should be doing more then just looking into this place. Has anyone seen some of the blogs that prior employees there have wrote. It is very sad. Look them up.
I too give the FVHS no stars. I just read a comment about a person who lost there cat. They put it down because it was unruly and not eating. I about lost my breath when I had read this, they told me the SAME EXACT THING!!!!!!!! My cat was a female rag doll 1 1/2 yrs old. I was beside myself when she went missing (in Kaukauna) and then they call and say she "passed away" from not eating and acting unruly! Really, this shelter NEEDS to be looked into!!!!!
i give this place NO stars but its not an option
