Bergstrom Buick GMC of Appleton

I took my car in to get diagnosed. They told me is was a bad ignition module. No problem there, kind of expected, in fact. The problem I have is with the mechanics. They wanted to charge me three hours worth of labor for a 30 minute job tops. The previous day I had taken the ignition module out of my car and scraped the grounding plate in case corrosion was the cause of the problem my car was having (same two cylinders misfiring randomly). After I was finished, I put everything back together and the time it took me was just over 20 minutes. I am NOT a mechanic, I just happen to know about this common problem with other GM vehicles of the same age. So, my conclusion was that either the mechanics at Bergstrom had no idea what they were doing, or they were just trying to milk me of money. It took them two and a half hours just to diagnose the problem. When I was told how much labor was going to be if they were to put another one in, I told them I would much rather do it myself. He strongly recommended that I order a factory (not aftermarket) part and have Bergstrom install it. I found an aftermarket part on Ebay for around $50 and installed it myself. It took about 15 minutes. I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU DO NOT TAKE YOU VEHICLE THERE FOR SERVICE!
