I have never used Stewart's Heating and Air yet but a neighbor used them last year when it was freezing cold and their furnace went out. The came out first thing in the morning and had their furnace going after about twenty mins and their house was warm again! I would recommend them even though I haven't used them yet. I hope when I do use them it won't be because of an emergency!! Maybe normal maintenance?

Stewert's heat and air did the right thing. i bought a Goodman gas pack 5 years ago. 3 years later my inducer assembly went out a they replaced if, labor charge only, a year and a half later it was going bad again, they sent a tech out who said i needed another new one. charged me 130.00. summer came and we forgot it till the beginning of this winter, it was still bad. i called Stewart's and the next day they came our here and made it right. I got a new induction motor and labor for free. not many companies these days will do the right thing like that. thanks Stewart's.

Stewart's installed our HVAC and every year since, I've had to call them to put in more coolant. I realize this is more the unit than the service company, however, within the last year when I've called them, their tech has failed to show up on three occasions and failed to call. I've been left with no ac for more than a week on two occasions in high heat. When I called, all I got was a "we'll get someone there tomorrow." Nope. And then when I called, I got the answering service. So, on to a new provider. Very, very disappointed.

I used Stewarts Heating and Air recently and must say that I am very impressed. I got great customer service when I called the office and they sent one of their service techs out that afternoon. The technician was professional and in about a hour my AC was running again. I will defiantly use Stewarts again and have already started recommending them to my friends.

Working with Stewart's Heating...

Working with Stewart's Heating & Air Conditioning has been extremely frustrating. They installed my unit 5 years ago and it has leaked ever since. When the unit was under warranty a tech came out and said he was able to fix the leak. However, my unit has needed a recharge every year since (at $300 a visit). Obviously the leak is still there and it was recently pointed out by another HVAC contractor. When I called to address the issue, they wouldn't return my calls, they would conveniently lose my file or tell me that they were extremely busy.

Be warned: Stuart's is slow to respond (if they do at all), they lack organization and they don't stand behind their work or products. Find another company for your HVAC needs.

Unfortunately, my experience w...

Unfortunately, my experience with Stewart's was not a good one. Their customer service and follow up after my service was absolutely terrible. On Nov. 10, 2011, Stewart's installed a new HVAC system for me. The unit failed the initial City of Raleigh Inspection and Stewart's had to make two repairs in order for the unit to pass the inspection. In addition, when I received my electric bill, it was DOUBLE what it had been before the new unit was installed (and I was told that my bill would be much less with the new system). I called Stewart's several times to discuss this and was assured that someone would call me back but no one did, so I finally called and placed a service call. The next day, a service tech came out and as soon as he opened the unit, he told me that the reason my bill was so high was because "the heater kit is wired with the call for heat, so the auxiliary heat comes on". He also checked the outside unit and detected a small leak. Clearly, this was a problem with their work when the unit was installed. A follow up appointment was scheduled for 2 weeks later and I was told that this follow up app't would take about 2 hours as he had to find where the leak was and then repair it. The tech did return as scheduled but just as he was about to make the repair (after locating the leak), he received a call from the office and had to leave to work on two jobs in Pinehurst. So, my repair was rescheduled for the next day as I guess they felt that my job (which was started 3 months earlier and done incorrectly ~ costing me quite a bit of money) was not as important as the business in Pinehurst. I am totally disgusted and am a firm believer that "word of mouth is your best advertisement". I have several neighbors in need of new HVAC units but I definitely will NOT recommend Stewart's.

The day before Christmas Eve my system gave out and the last thing I wanted to hear was it needed replacing. I have used Stewart's for years, trusting and relying on Stewart himself too transitioning and working with his son in law Chris. It is evident their systems have not changed for I am still able to talk directly to Chris and have him double check his teams findings and always returning my calls. As it turned out I did need a new system. With this warm weather, there was no real rush, but I decided to get it done before Christmas. This will be my second system for my house, first one sold by Stewart and the second one sold by Chris. I really feel like I have been treated fairly, the whole process was painless, from first call, to inspection approval and tutorial of the system. I have great confidence in the future with Stewart's Heating and Air, I do not feel like a number and when I call and ask for Chris, he does not evade, he seems to remember all customers and that means a lot. If I live to see my third system, it is Stewart's I will be calling, they just treated me that fair!

Right before the winter, I had a technician from another company come out because I was having issues with my air conditioning unit. They "fixed it" but it wasn't used much as the cold weather came in. Well, I went to turn on my AC last week and imagine my surprise: it was broken again! I called the company back and they said it was working when they left so I'd have to pay for them to come out again and diagnose the problem. No need having them mess it up again, so I called Stewarts to have THEM come and repair my AC unit. They found the problem in no time and within 2 hours, I had cool air. I can appreciate service that is affordable and efficient. Thanks Stewart's!!!

A company that goes the extra mile! We had our air conditioning condensers replaced last summer along with new duct work and some other bells and whistles. The service and installation folks were excellent in their professional demeanor and the quality of the work was top notch. This year, We had them come out and install a whole house dehumidifier. Stewarts, from Jan, to Chris , Kurt and service provider Rodney, were all outstanding in their knowledge and responsive to our needs. I recommended them to my neighbor who ended up doing business with them as well.

Honesty and Integrity I have used Stewarts for many many years. The most important thing to me is knowing that someone is giving me honest advice and not trying to take advantage of or overcharge me for work that I don't need. All of my experiences have been excellent. Their service folks were easy to work with and showed up when they said they would. They have always been honest and helpful in their dealings with me.

I can not thank Stewart's enough for their prompt service. With our system being well over 15 years old, and our ac went out we knew it was time to replace our system. We chose to call Stewart's because they are a locally owned and family business. The salesman was on time, very informative and courteous. he came prepared to answer all of our questions. We decided to go with a Trane HP system, the process was very quick. We had our new hvac system installed within 2 days. We are so thankful to everyone at Stewart's for their wonderful service.

Very professional company! We had to replace both of our HVAC units and called 3 companies to give us quotes. Stewarts was by far the most professional, respectful, honest, courteous and knowledgeable company that came to our house. From the salesman to the men who installed our units and replaced our duct work, every person we dealt with was wonderful! They are also very quiet and clean when they work. The office staff at Stewarts is also very friendly, professional and knowledgeable. They always return calls promptly and answer any questions you have. We would recommend Stewarts to everyone we know. They are second to none!

They were fast, efficient, and brought our house from 84 degrees inside during the summer heat wave down to 70! I have save a ton on electric and gas bills already in the last five months and they even helped us with the tax credit information. We got our estimate on Tuesday and we were cool by Friday! Would highly recommend. Their customer service at the office was excellent as well and helped with all of my questions before and after installation.

Called Stewart's in the heat of the week and was glad and surprised that they answered the phone at 9 in the evening. I did not really expect them to come out that night, but they offered. Even though they let me know they do not charge over time rates, the morning was going to be O K. The next morning Jan called me from their office and set me up an appt between 10-12 that morning. Ben called me about 9:30 and let me know he was on the way and arrived in the time frame discussed. He was a very knowledgeable and clean cut young man. he efficiently checked my a/c and found that I had a bad motor outside. He had the part on the truck and said the repair would be $375.00. I agreed upon the repair and he was fast at work. I feel like Ben was very honest with me, took care of my home and yard and left me with a good feeling about the repair. Later that day I spoke to my son and he reassured me that he thought that was a fair price and he was glad my problem was taken care of. Ben was the best and I recommend Stewart's!

I've never needed to call a heating and air company since I moved to this area 5 years ago. So on what felt like the hottest day of the year, I just started calling companies to see who could come out the fastest. When calling Stewarts, I was told that there were no appointments available and that I would be put on a waiting list. I was ok with that, but kept calling other companies. To my dismay, the other companies I called were telling me that it would be a week or more before they could come to my home. Then my phone rang and it was Stewart's telling me that they had someone on the way. Luckily it was a small part and the price was very reasonable. I will definitely call them again, and I'm telling all of my friends to do the same.

I recently was in the market for a new HVAC system, after speaking with numerous company's I decided to use Stewarts Heating and Air Conditioning. The sales person who came out (I believe his name was Chris) Was very personable and knowledgeable and the unit was competitively priced. The installation went without a hitch. The installers worked hard and cleaned up after themselves! So far I have been pleased with the whole experience.

I called Stewart's on Memorial...

I called Stewart's on Memorial Day of 2011 and was very surprised to hear a voice on the other end. The weekend started out very hot and I had a feeling something was going wrong with my system. Thinking it was just the heat, I let it go. Well of course on a Holiday it gives out completely. Chris answered the phone on the second ring and did make me aware that they were backed up by over 70 calls and many contract customers, but he promised he would do his best and call back shortly. I let him know I was elderly and in poor health and he was concerned and said he would make note of that. To my surprise Walter the service tech called me and mentioned he was actually driving between calls and he was going to drop by since he was close and see the severity of my problem. I was truly grateful and elated when he arrived, replaced my capacitor, billed me and did not charge me the customary trip charge, since he said " Mam. you were right on my route". By mid morning my house had cooled down and I enjoyed the rest of my Holiday weekend in comfort. I will call Stewart's back again if I am ever in trouble, from the initial call to the swift action by their service team, I would recommend them to anyone! Thanks again!!

Be very careful of these guys

I called Stewarts to look at my air conditioner which was icing up on the inside. This is due to low freon so I figured there was a leak, the last one I had was about 4 years ago (same unit). The service tech showed up on time, nice guy, and added freon and watched for about 20 mins to see if the pressure dropped. This is a normal procedure and after it didn't drop he charged me for the call and left. What bothered me was he didn't use his freon gas detector to check for a leak which is standard procedure. Sure enough, the leak was bad enough it began to ice up again in less than 24 hours.

I called again, the next tech did the same thing but this time used the detector and found it had a major leak and said the coils were bad. Since they had already been replaced only 4 years ago and that the freon type my unit uses is no longer manufactured, he recommended a complete system replacement. Fair enough, not bad advice considering the circumstances.

The main guy from Stewarts called me the next day and wanted to sell me a Lennox system to replace my Trane, which was only 9 years old. He gave me several things that Trane was problematic about and said I really should let him put in a $6500 Lennox and get the tax rebate. I sent an email to Trane asking them about the info he gave me and it turned out to be all wrong. Trane gave me specific info regarding their coils, what was wrong with them, and what had been done to fix the problem.....which did not match anything the guy from Stewart said. I called several other AC Service companies and asked them the same questions. Most gave me the same answers, which all differed from what Stewarts told me. Stewarts never even opened my unit to see what the root problem was, why the coil went bad, or did anything to find the root cause. They clearly just wanted to go for the big bucks and do a complete system replacement. This isn't thorough enough for me, I really need absolute facts before I shell out $6500+. I really felt that they would tell me anything to get me to buy a whole new system......there was no honesty or ethics in anything the main guy said. Considering the first tech didn't even use his gas detector, it's also apparent they are not held accountable for major mistakes in the quality of their service.....much more training is required with this company.

For now, since I have a much better understanding of coil problems and what Trane did to fix them so I'm took the risk and just replaced the coils since that's about all I can afford to do. I'll get a warranty on the coils and I should be good for another 5 to 10 years. In the mean time that will give me time to save up for another unit.

After getting it done, the other company installed the coils for $1600 and also adjusted baffels and corrected some minor installation problems. Stewarts quoted me "between $1850 - $1900" with strong advice that I really should replace the system.

To whom it may concern, I have thoroughly read your feed back and I can see where it appears this service call had gone wrong. It is very apparent you had a very large freon leak and it looks as if we diagnosed that properly. With the national life average expectancy of systems being 10-13 years old, it is our policy to make sure customers are aware, that upwards of $2000 spent on this age system is just not money well spent. Stewart's has been in business 33 years, has over 70 employees and services thousands of happy and satisfied customers per year. Throughout the year, that is not to say that we may have a misdiagnosis, or an employee that may have made a bad call, and for that I apologize if it appears this happened to you. We are a reputable company with our far share of overhead and it would be a guess as to compare our coil price replacement with the company who you had perform the work. We do sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings and your feeling that we have done wrong. This is not how we wish to operate and if you would like to talk further about this, please call Chris at this company and he will find a way to make this right. Thank you for your input and this will be discussed at future meetings.

Poor Service

This company has poor customer service skills and would not suggest using them. They came out to our house to do an estimate after our HVAC system went out and after numerous calls to try to get them back out to do the work we never heard a word. Each time we tried to call them they always gave the excuse that they were really busy and would give us a call back. If you are that busy and you are supposed to be a premier company then you might want to hire more people. I guess it was a good thing we did not go with them because if they had poor customer service initially then I would not want to see their installaton of a new system. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR YOUR AIR CONDITIONER SERVICE!

To whom it may concern, Stewart's has been in business for 33 years and services thousands of homes per year. It is unfortunate that you may have been one of the customers ( which is a very small percentage) that due to obvious overload of dead of summer heat, did fall through the cracks. With the heat of June 2010, federal tax credits and brand incentives, you are correct when you said we need more hands on deck. This is something we did not know would happen and we worked tirelessly to find them employees. We have since added another person in our customer service department and another full time comfort specialist. I am glad you ended up with a product you are happy with and sincerely apologize that we dis not live up to your expectations and my team will learn from this situation. If you would like to talk further about this, please call Chris at this company.
