I never leave reviews, but I wanted to make sure I gave credit where credit was due. The customer service is hands down awesome! Prompt, polite, and Ken cares that you have a good experience. I will be ordering from them again! Great selections also.

Overall

I wasn't sure what to think about this place as I started the 45 minute drive there. The name sounded a bit cheesy and there were quite a few billboards of them on the way there making me feel like I was heading to a tourist trap. I was pleasantly surprised when I got there. The store was pretty large for a "western store", there was a good selection of boots, hats, and jeans. Their selection of shirts was OK, but they didn't have a huge selection of shirts.

I was there for boots. I walked the aisles for about 10 minutes looking at the different options. I was hoping for a little help in being told what they had that would fit my needs and start pointing me in the right direction as far as sizing/fitment of the different boots. Granted, it was nice to not have someone breathing down my neck the whole time too. After about an hour of looking, trying on a bunch of different boots, and frustration over not having some of the ones I liked in my size . . . I found the perfect pair.

What I can tell you is the staff is young, they are very pleasant and are very willing to help if you ask them, but they aren't overly proactive in inserting them in your search. This can be good and bad depending on what type of buying experience you are expecting. While looking through the boots I was asked 3-4 times if I was doing alright and I did as one of the sales persons a few questions the first time. If you are looking for a lot of assistance in your search, be prepared to ask for it immediately when you get there. If you are a seasoned pro and know what you are looking for and don't want bothered, you will enjoy your shopping experience for sure.

They can order anything that is not in stock for 50% down, which is a nice option if you fall in love with something that isn't in your size. You are also not obligated to buy that product when it comes in if it doesn't fit right.

The prices are fair. This is a specialty shop so the prices are higher than what you could expect to pay someplace like TSC, but then again, the selection is better too. We were there on Memorial day so they were running 10% off boots and 20% off clothing which was a real good deal!

At the end of the day, I will be back!

If I could make one change in my shopping experience, I would prefer the staff be more proactive in making sure I was settled and understood how the store was laid out and I was prepared to make my selection . . . and then let me to my own devices.

I love my Ariats though, super comfortable pair of boots!

Why is it that the only people who have had a bad experience take the time to write a (review) When usually the person writing the review is at fault but cant own it! I went into Cowpokes for the first time for a pair of HH boots. It was truly the best experience I have ever had as far as customer service! A guy named Jeff walked me through the store showing me the things I was looking for and didnt try to sell me on anything just presented them to me and let me choose, he also introduced me to everyone we came across along the way and they were each very nice, I felt as if I had been there a million times before! They seemed to be such a tight nit family. I have told several people about my experience and will continue to do so as well as continue to drive to Anderson to shop there!! Great Job to all of you at Cowpokes!

My experience was NOT AT ALL G...

My experience was NOT AT ALL GREAT!!! I drove 45 miles to this store twice. The first time they did not have the boots I wanted in stock, no problem- they ordered them. Got a call 5 days later that led me to believe that they had these boots, in a different size (was led to believe that they were in stock) called the day before I went back to verify this info. Then I drove BACK to the store again only to find that these were NOT in stock at the store as I was led to believe, but I could order them and have them shipped to my house to save me another trip to the store (to make up for the inconvienence) at a charge of $13.00. I was frustrated at having wasted another 2 hours of my time and I was not about to pay another $13.00 for their poor communication and not to mention the gas $, that I left empty handed. The Georgia work boots I wanted were $89.00 at their store+ tax if they had been in stock. I purchased them online from jgear for only $80.00 no tax and no shipping! And it only took 5 mins. and no gas! You do the math! Appearantly I'm no Cowpoke!
