The craftsmanship and design of this unique and homey establishment make it inviting and fun. I enjoyed my stay here and must say that Jennifer and Desiree make great hostess . They were helpful and made me really want to stay even though I only wanted a few nights. My room was amazing and nice and cozy . There is wifi through out the building and even cable which was impressive sense it is a small private hotel and that is what really transformed my idea , why do we stay at fancy hotels that always look the same? I think I will stay at more private owned unique hotels like Qupqugiaq Inn from now on! It cost me $12 to take a taxi from the hotel to the airport but it was worth it. Also there is a Mexican restaurant downstairs in the same building with really good tamales . It was a bit cold outside but I walked down the street and found a beautiful library with a small park adjoined to it and to a nice walk.
My close group of friends and I recently attended the Museum Expansion Grand Opening. As Anchorage residents, we get the opportunity to attend many functions and events produced by many planners. Not all are good. This was a great event made even better because Art Services North was involved. I know because of the many professional crew members I saw working that day, all wearing their burgundy ASN shirts. The food vendors produced yummy food quickly and affordable. The stages of entertainers were real crowd pleasers, and such diversity. The ribbon cutting was well executed. And the exhibits were easily accessible by the crowds of people present at the event. My kudos to the team at Art Services North for another job well done!
It is CLOSE to the airport and has the most important thing to us: a free 24hour shuttle to the airport. So yes, Free coffee in room plus free breakfast plus free shuttle = a winner. Yes the mattress was kinda thin - ish (could feel the springs) but if you are in a pickle, this hotel is JUST FINE - so go for it. If you don't like the looks of your room, just ask for a new room - ask for one on the 3rd floor away from the newly renovate wine bar - it will be quieter.
