1) Price: Maybe $2-4 more per dish than I would have liked to pay. 2) Ambiance: Contemporary, moderately elevated dining, pretty 3) Service: Lacked heart. Yes they checked all the boxes for service but I just don't like the Asian style of service where you don't approach them, they approach you, so they avoid eye contact/your table until THEY are ready to come to you. I felt a bit of judgment/snobbyness based off our clothes & appearance also. 4) What we ate: Complimentary miso soup. Server was nice-enough to give baby egg-drop soup instead & we got a side of rice for him. I got the only roll that had lobster tempura in it & added spicy ahi on the outside (the good spicy ahi with the mayo/shiracha/tobikko mix). Pretty lobster tail presentation. Then alby got like a Cali roll that had cream cheese & was fried & has a spicy sauce. & we shared a Thai noodle dish pad sew ew with broccoli & shrimp. All 3 were yum. I do like the variety of Asian fusion choices. There was a fried cheesecake I believe. I wasn't a fan, but alby really loved it. $81 incl a $10 tip. Might eat here again if I'm feeling spendy. (For about $30 less I'd go over to Tempura Express. Yeah you might get a Grouchy Korean lady cashier/server/possible owner, but at least the food is the bomb & moderate pricing. Fresh homemade kimchee, teriyaki sauce nicely balanced, & tempura bento's have good variety, sushi good too.)
My family and I went to Lahn Pad Thai the other night. We order a couple of appetizers (Fresh Rolls and Angel Wings) the appetizers came out really quick and tasted really really good especially the Fresh rolls. It was Pretty and different from others that I've tasted. I can taste everything inside it . (shrimp, chicken, lettuce, apple, cucumber, celery and more..) dipping it in the sweet chili peanut sauce was awesome. The stuff wings was so good and crispy. It was stuff with clear noodles, pork and veggetables . We then order some Pad Thai noodles , Kiew Warn Chicken (green curry), Krapoa Shrimp and Tom yum chicken. Our dinner came out pretty quick. The portions were big, Pad Thai tasted so good, not too dried like some other restaurants, the kiew warn was not too spicy and creamy came with green peas, bamboo shoots and fresh basil that was good too, krapoa shrimp was good and tasty with bamboo shoots, string beans and fresh basil , you can taste the fresh garlic and the Thai chili , the spices were perfect, they also use large shrimp not small ones. For the Tom yum, It was so good ...I can taste and the smell all the flavors, lemon grass, limes leaves the chilis. Over all my dinner at Lahn Pad Thai was awesome my family and I enjoy it very much., I can say that Lahn Pad Thai is my favorite place for Thai food.
The food is great! The prices are AWESOME! The service... kind of slow, but who cares? They're not rude, just slow. Their employee customer ratio doesn't seem adequate, but I assure you it's worth it! I go there fairly often, and I've only come across one child... He could be 12yrs old, give or take. I wouldn't exactly think that means it's being run by children. I think whoever wrote that other review must be lacking in taste bud expertise, and quite possibly a little too uptight . Have fun finding an Asian restaurant that meets your high standards. Thai Kitchen is great. Don't let this funny little restaurant fool you, the food is delicious.
