It's hilarious how the owner is using various names and/or her friends to give herself positive reviews. Anyway, I also had a bad experience with her. I've worked in a salon, have been licensed for a while and can do my own hair but sometimes I get tired of doing my hair. I was excited at the prospect of coming to get my hair done by a woman of color in amherst. I have natural hair and thought finding a salon like this was going to be heaven instead of risking it in a salon where they have no clue of how to deal with AA hair. When I told her when i'd be there and reached a few minutes early to the salon, she wasn't there. When she saw me standing outside the door, instead of saying hello, she was ridiculously rude. She asked me why couldn't I just come when I said I was going to come. (for a few minutes early?...really?) Highly unprofessional. She then used a fine tooth/small tooth comb to comb my naturally curly hair (while it was dry!!!) Last but not least, by the time my hair was flat ironed and curled, it looked like dianna ross 80's hair (which I was not going for). I went home to just fix it. Overall, I thought she was just not having a good day but after reading posts here and speaking to a few friends that went there as well, and realizing she had treated them rudely, I can no longer defend the stylist's behavior. I understand she is convenient for the location but if you want to be treated nicely and feel confident about your new hairstyle, the drive to anywhere else is worth it.
