My mom has been using this pharmacy for decades. The staff is terrific, and the pharmacist is great at keeping track of my mom's various prescriptions. I know that big chains and Walmart, etc. have computer programs that are supposed to alert them to drug interactions, but it is so helpful and reassuring to have a pharmacist to reviews it as well as the computer. My mom is 86, and the pharmacist is always willing to spend the time to explain her meds to mom whenever she calls with a question (which can be quite often now that she is forgetful. They also have a reasonable fee for delivering the prescriptions to my mom's home. This is such a blessing now that my mom can no longer drive. If you are looking for a pharmacy that gives you old-fashioned medical service like back in the days when doctors made house calls--this is it. You aren't treated like a customer--they look out for you like you are family. This is a great pharmacy for ANYONE, but especially for the elderly or disabled. Try them, you won't be sorry.
The folks at Kopp Drug Bellwood are locally known as a freindly hometown pharmacy who will go that extra mile to help you out if they are able. Recently, when I had my elderly Mother move in with me unexpectedly and had to get all her meds quickly, the pharmacist at Kopp helped me to transfer them there to Bellwood. Even when she wasn't able to get one of them, she called all over town until she found a store open that did have it. (it was a Holiday) Now that's dedication!
