I live in Allen Park and have to deal with their incompetent mail people almost on a daily basis. They delivery people they hire have a difficult time distinguishing street names - my mail is routinely delivered to the wrong address and vice versa.
It came to a head when they delivered a $400 package of mine to the wrong address. I was on the phone with USPS for 1/2 an hour during which time they told me it was delivered. I had to argue with them to look further into it. After being on hold for almost 10 min, she gave me a case number and said there was “a problem with my address”. She wouldn’t give any other info even when I told her it was probably delivered to the wrong address.
3 hours later, a plain dressed guy wearing a USPS hat came to my house with my package. He told me that he was a supervisor on his own time and had retrieved my package from the house it had been delivered to. I was happy he had my package, but furious that he made it sound like he’d gone out of his way to help me. I told him about all of the delivery issues we’ve experienced. He was polite, but pretty much impartial.

Newsflash - do your job properly the first time & you won’t have to fix problems while you’re off the clock.

Our priority mail package was mailed out on March 9th., and was suppose to arrive to Zellwood, Florida on March 12th.. still is not there and we filed a claim on USPS. Yup got a generated email. Have called and called Cinsumer Affairs and they don’t call back!! We were told today the mail was shipped air to surface and there’s a missing mail truck due to weather. Makes no sense at all!

A package I sent has been sitting here for 2+ weeks now.

PayPal has refunded the buyer of this package and it's extremely frustrating that I am now out both the package and the money. Considering my package contents and having read these reviews, I'm not surprised at all that my package has gone missing, and I'm quite certain it was stolen. The package contained an expensive pair of Nikes. Since it was shipped first class, I will receive no compensation and the USPS "Customer Service" is lackluster. They have closed my case without any attempt to locate the package. My case was closed within an hour of me escalating it. ZERO attempt made. Very frustrating. I have multiple phone numbers for this business. The first if for Carol Mehall, who is the Administrative Assistant at this facility. Her phone number is 313-337-2101. The second is for Carmelita Hutchson who you are directed to contact regarding package inquiries. her number is 313-337-2200. I have not received a return call from either of them, but I don't mind putting their info out there to let everyone inundate them with phone calls. I would recommend anyone else having issues with the sorting facility to contact the USPS Office of Inspector General. Information is below.

For all of you others having problems with missing packages from the USPS Sort Facility in ALLEN PARK, MI 48101, the problem will soon be solved. I have hired an attorney and I have had all tracking numbers listed on this review disputed as evidence and will be used. The attorney has got in contact with an investigator for said related facilities and this specific facility will be inspected. More than likely, the staff will be removed along with possibly the facility.

So I found the deal of a lifetime on Ebay- scored a brand new $800 laptop for $27. To my surprise the seller made good on the sale and actually shipped it!
Unfortunately it came through this sorry sorting center and appears to have been stolen by one of it’s stellar employees. The package departed the facility on 5/2. It is now 5/10 with no updates what so ever. To top it off I find the same laptop for sale on Ebay listed days after mine disappeared AND within 15 miles of this sorting center! Unfortunately it is listed in Windsor Canada (first town over the border) so I'm sure I will be stonewalled if I take this to any law enforcement.
There is something very wrong with this facility and it is a shame that the USPS is turning a blind eye to it since it appears it has been an ongoing problem judging from the reviews contained here.
The ONLY saving grace might be that it was registered so MAYBE USPS will actually start looking into this facility and put an end to this, but I am sure I will never see any retribution beyond my $27 back.
I have much stronger words for this situation but I will leave it PG. This is ridiculous. Flipping ridiculous.

I've never had a correct delivery time through this location. It's always sent all over the US and back to them until they finally get it on the right truck to the right location. Whenever I see this location pop up in my tracking I think, "great will this be the time they lose my stuff completely?" Another package late, tracking path is as follows.

What's up with this place? Mailed priority envelope on 4/5/16 with expected delivery to Walbridge, Ohio, (~50 miles away). Envelope arrive at Allen Park at 7:30 pm on 4/7. Tracking shows it is still sitting at Allen Park on 4/11.

This is not the postal service I am used to receiving.

ALLEN PARK IS THE WORST POST OFFICE IN THE WORLD. LET ME EXPLAIN MY PACKAGE ONLY TOOK 5 DAYS FROM CHINA TO CHICAGO FOR 2 DAYS AND NOW IT WENT TO ALLEN PARK TOMORROW WILL BE 7 DAYS, KEPT CALLING LEAVING MESSAGES EVEN THE VOICE MAIL BOX IS FULL IT WILL NOT EVEN TAKE ANY MORE VOICE MAILS. THIS FACILITY SHOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSED ALONG TIME AGO THESE PEOPLE MAKE $21 DOLLARS AN HOUR FOR NOTHING. FIRST TIME I WAS STUCK WITH ALLEN PARK, WE ONLY LIVE 37 MILES FROM THEM IT IS NOT LIKE I LIVE IN CHINA.

seller sent my package priority mail. tracking number show it arrived in Allen Park next day. oh boy i'm going to get my package in the next day or two..but wait...now it was sent to bell gardens.CA...then los angels CA.....wonder if i'll ever see it??
Could they have stolen from allen park? and just doing run around with tracking?

I would give zero stars if I could. I have had multiple packages sit at your facility for weeks without moving. This is ridiculous. I tried calling and it is 100% automated so I can't even talk to a real person. Get it together.

I order packages frequently and this sorting center routinely delays all my packages. This is also the only sorting center where I've had packages completely disappear.
Knowing most of my packages from USPS will come through here means most of my priority mail is usually late, why pay the extra cost when this center routinely prevents me from getting packages within the priority mail delivery window?

Everytime I'm expecting a few packages I am always missing one. Only to find out that it's been delayed and it's always through this hub. I've never had a package not meets it's original delivery date, unless it goes to Allen Park. Then, I can expect it in a couple more days some how.

They sent one of my orders to Detroit instead of to my home in Fayette, OH. Now, I have another order setting there since March 15th, which should have been delivered to me by the 18th. This is pathetic!

This is the second pkg that has been lost at the Allen Park post office. ! Terrible service at this government facility

I live in Plymouth which is about 40 min from the Allen Park post office. A package I ordered required a signature. Post man tried delivering the item but we weren't here so he left a slip indicating the package was at the Allen Park location. I drive 40 min out there for them to tell me that the package is at the Plymouth location. They said that someone from the AP location was in Plymouth to help out but they filled out the slip from Allen Park location. I could hear the employees laughing in the back when they heard that I drove all the way out there. I hope to never have to do business with them in the future.

Had a package sit here for 10 days until they decided to get off their butts and actually sort it and send it on to the next facility. 10 days!!!

My package was supposed to be delivered on the 22nd. It appears it's still sitting at Allen Park. I would give it "no stars" if I could since my $50 fee to mail a box of Christmas presents seems to have been put in a corner somewhere and forgotten or just plain stolen. Along with the other exact same complaints, this station seems to be pretty pathetic and should be closed down.

This distribution center is the WORST! I've got a package that has been sitting there for 3 days now and I have no idea if I'll get it in time for xmas! I'm beginning to think it was stolen! THANK YOU USPS FOR THE TEARS THAT MY SON WILL HAVE ON HIS FACE THIS XMAS!!

I ordered a Christmas present on December 15th, it was received at the Allen Park location on the 16th and today is the 22nd and with only 25 miles between Allen Park and delivery location, it still hasn't left the post office!!! How and why is this acceptable??
