Whatever you do, don't take your pets to this animal hospital! I have a serious complaint about the VCA Old Town Alexandria.
Our little dog was sick, and we brought him in. He was misdiagnosed, treated with the wrong antibiotics, MISDIAGNOSED AGAIN, and treated again with the wrong antibiotics. We are $1200 into getting treatment for a SIMPLE URINARY TRACT INFECTION!
In addition, the doctor has twice been incredibly rude and condescending to me. I suspect to cover up the fact that she was unable to diagnose a urinary tract infection without charging us yet another $200, for a test she claimed needed to be done "just to be sure" that the infection was cured. By the way, each antibiotic was $66! We have worked with veterinarians for years and have never experienced this level of incompetence and unjustifiable cost. I can say that that their marketing is impeccable. I have been hounded with phone calls and mailings for routine, and insanely overpriced, services.
I would say to look else where for care. I had two animals that had tests and the outcome of the tests were not revealed to me. One, the radiologist stated that the teswas unclear to rerun, just told me my dog had cancer. When went to a specialist and they requested records saw what was said by radiolgist that never was shared. Then I had a cat that was sick. I took it for tests, never shared the results with me. Even when I went in for a follow up to find out why coughing more than normal. Said he was fine they never even looked at their own files that showed the test results of a spot on his lung. He got very sick and I had to let him go - but could have helped to know early - almost a year prevously when test was done - that he had the spot on his lung. Never went back - but a terrible experience for me and my pets.
