My six bridesmaids got their dresses from Ellies. They were measured by Ellie's so all they had to do was call and place the order.(One bridesmaid who is 4'11"" and maybe 100 pounds was measured at a size 10...RED FLAG!) We chose a teal color called ""Oasis"" and brown color called ""Espresso"" from the swatches they provided us. We were told it would take 2-3 months for the dresses to arrive. We ordered the beginning of Feb for an Oct wedding. Over three months passed and I still had not heard from Ellie's. I called and they told me the dress would be there in a few days. They promised me the end of May. When I called at the end of May, they told me the wrong fabric had been ordered and they would rush order the correct fabric and then be ready by June 16th. (Side note: Every time my bridesmaids or I would call to ask about the status of the dresses or pay, it would literally take them15 min to find any information, many times saying they have no record of us. I blame this on their unorganized, archaic filing system. One word: EXCEL! You do not need an expensive, high-tech system to keep track of your orders, just a simple spreadsheet!) June 16th rolls around and NO DRESSES! They assured me they would be done by July 10th. On July 10th I went in to pick up the dresses. When they brought the dresses to me they were all disheveled. I realized they were the wrong color. Right away I could tell Ellie was annoyed she had to deal with the situation. (We took her away from blow drying her hair, which she was doing in the middle of the store). The color that was ordered was a teal, but it looked grayish and like it was washed multiple times, not the vibrant color we wanted. Ellie proceeded to pull out the crumpled up orders and tell me that I was wrong, teal is what I had wanted. I looked at the order slips and all they say is

A bridesmaid and I traveled to Alexandria to check the color and fit of some bridesmaid's dresses we'd found online. We were left in a little back room by ourselves to look through their selection. The lady that was helping us was nice but basically put some books out in front of us for us to use as a selection guide. We thought that was a little weird but chose to overlook it because they seemed busy, nice, and we appreciated the selection. Once we had made our decision (days later), the bridesmaid returned to Ellie's to select and purchase a dress. On 3/17 they recommended rush ordering for our 6/25 wedding, which she paid and she was quoted a ship date of 4/20 with 2-3 business days after that to expect her call back to pick it up. On 5/1 she still had not heard anything, despite calling them multiple times and being told that they would check on it and call her back. So, I called to find out the exact reason for the delay (was it the dress maker or was there a problem with the order?). As BETHANY looked into the original order, she said that my bridesmaid had been improperly charged (by TONI) for the rush ordering - that she should have been charged $80 for a 4 week rush instead of $30. She said they expected the dress within the next couple of days. She had a very bad attitude and did very little to answer any of my questions so I asked to speak with her supervisor. I was told she was out to lunch and would call me back (no call back was ever made) and THEN she said that since the dress would arrive in less than the 8 week expedited shipping, the one that costs $30, they would hold the dress until the bridesmaid paid the additional $50 to equal the $80 for 4 week expedited shipping or until 8 weeks had been reached. At that point, I just said I'd work that out with her supervisor. My bridesmaid got her dress just after 6 weeks. She said she worked with someone else and didn't have to pay the additional charge.
I would not recommend this dress shop unless you have no other option. Our experience was horrible but in the end, we did get the dress we were looking for - not in the amount of time that we were promised and not with ease, but we did get the dress.

My new fiancee and I were grossly mistreated at this shop. After explaining to the sweet girl working at the desk that we did not have an appointment because we had just gotten engaged, were planning on having the wedding very soon, and the area we wanted to purchase a dress in the area because the selection where we live is less than impressive, she happily allowed me to use a back room to try on the dresses. We thanked her repeatedly and wholeheartedly.
She has made me never want to dress shop again. If a bride with an engagement ring and a fiance cannot get respect as serious purchasers, how can a bride alone or a bride with girl friends possible be respected.
She ruined my beautiful first day of shopping and has made me dread dress shopping again.
The dresses were in the grungiest of conditions, with ragged edge, ink pen marks, and broken zippers.
We quietly carried our dresses (two at a time) to the back and replaced them, after I had tried them on. We had tried on 4 dresses (and replaced each of them). Despite their ragged appearance the dresses were lovely.
As we were replacing the 4th dress a woman came up to us and told us ""Ok, it is time to stop playing now."" We stared at her in disbelief. She continued to spew out a slue of degrading comments. We had been nothing but respectful, asking before we did anything, so I was mortified at her belittling responses.
