Property Damage
Christina Slay was admitted to practice in the State of Louisiana in October 2006. She obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Louisiana College in Pineville, Louisiana in 2003. She obtained a Juris Doctorate from Regent University School of Law, Virginia Beach, Virginia in 2006. Christina has worked at the law firm of Bolen, Parker, Brenner, Lee & Engelsman, Ltd. since 2006 and was named partner in 2016. Christina is a member of the Alexandria Bar Association, Louisiana State Bar Association and Crossroads-American Inn of Court of Alexandria-Pineville. She is also a member of the Defense Research Institute (DRI) and Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel. Christina is admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Eastern and Western Districts of Louisiana. She attended the Building Trial Skills program through the National Institute for Trial Advocacy to further her trial skills.. Christina’s areas of practice include insurance defense in the areas of personal injury claims, first party bad faith claims, third party bad faith claims, coverage issues, homeowner’s liability, commercial liability, premises liability and duty to defend and indemnify issues. Christina has also defended employers in workers’ compensation claims and represented creditors in bankruptcy proceedings. Christina has represented individuals in personal injury, property damage, bad faith and workers’ compensation claims.. In 2012, Christina received a certificate of completion for the “Temporary Traffic Control in Highway Work Zones – Designing and Supervision” 16 hour course. In the course, she learned of the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices. This course helps her in defending employers or businesses engaged in roadway construction.. Christina has practiced before numerous Courts in the State of Louisiana, both City Courts and District Courts. She has also practiced before the Louisiana Courts of Appeal, Louisiana Supreme Court and United States District Court, Eastern and Western Districts.

Medical Malpractice
James A. (Jay) Bolen, Jr. graduated with a B.A. from Louisiana State University with majors in political science and history. He received his Law Degree from L.S.U. Law School. He is a member of the American, Louisiana and Alexandria Bar Associations and previous member of the House of Delegates Louisiana Bar Association. He was voted into membership of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) on May 10, 2006. He was presented the “Defense Star” award in 2004 by OMSNIC (med-mal insurer of Oral Surgeons). He was a previous member of Trial Ethics Subcommittee and Jury Trials Subcommittee of the American Bar Association from 1990-91 and a previous member of the LSBA Lawyer Specialization Committee from 1991-92 and 1992-93. He is a member of the Louisiana Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute (DRI), International Association of Defense Counsel and Fellow of Louisiana Bar Foundation. He was a former member of Crossroads-American Inns of Court and a charter member of The Committee of One Hundred, The Supreme Court of Louisiana Historical Society. He received the highest rating in Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory, was a lecturer at CLE seminars at Tulane Law School and LSU Law School in 1980, at LSU Law School in 1986 and 1988 on behalf of the State Bar Association, at the LADC seminar in February 1989, at CLE sponsored seminar by Tulane Law School in New Orleans, LA, in November 1991. He was also a guest speaker at the National Managers Association of Dresser Industries on Products Liability in October 1991, lecturer at Allstate Insurance Company Seminar in Shreveport, LA in September 1991, speaker at a seminar given at Alexandria, LA, by Allstate Insurance Company in February 9, 1994 and a speaker at Trinity Universal Insurance Company seminar in 1999. He was also the President Attakapas Council, Boy Scouts of America in 1990, 1991, and 1992. He was the President of the Alexandria Museum of Art from 1993-94 and President of the Alexandria Kiwanis Club from 1995-96. He was elected member at large to two terms on the Alexandria City Council in Alexandria, LA from 1977-1984 and appointed 1988. He was the President of the City Council from 1982-83. He was awarded the adult “Distinguished Eagle Scout Award” from the Boy Scouts of America in 1992. He was the President Board of Trustees for Emmanuel Baptist Church and Chairman of Citizens for Quality Life of Cenla from 1994-98. He was a member of the Alexandria Civil Service Commission from 1994-1997 and a Guest Teacher at NITA seminars at LSU Law School, Baton Rouge, Louisiana since 1993. In March, 1999 he served on the teaching panel for Louisiana State Bar Association seminar titled, “Deposition School.” His practice include the defense of Medical Care Providers in Medical Malpractice claims and cases, defense of manufacturers of products and defense of premises owners in slip/trip and fall cases.
