My daughter and I walked in and asked for acrylic nails and 1 color ($25) right away he sat my daughter down and the nail employee got straight to work(very polite). After finishing we went up to the front and the the man charged us $42 and said we got gel. We had never asked for gel nails and he started loosing his temper because we had told him what my daughter wanted in the beginning instead of the lady doing the pedicure. This shows a great lack of communication in the salon. My whole experience was great up until I had to speak to the greedy uneducated man.

ruined my hair and they don't sterilize their manicure equipment

My appointment is at 10:00 and Tu was already coloring 2 other customers hair...I had to wait as usual. While I waited, they pressured me into getting a manicure. I saw the girl use the same clippers she used on the last person without sterilization! She made me bleed once. When she completed my manicure, she put her tools right back in her box for the next usage! Back to the hair color. I showed her a picture of the color and she said no problem. We used 4 different colors (since they make more money that way).I asked for a warm brown and my hair came out orange blonde!!! I was not happy at all. She blamed me for the color! She picked the colors to achieve what I requested. Ultimately, she had to redo the whole thing all over again. I missed my nieces wedding, my hair got frizzy ends that break when you touch it :( I'm so miserable. At the end, I paid $188 with extremely damaged hair.

Lack of sanitation!!!!!!!!! Implements (cuticle trimmer, cuticle pusher, nail clippers) for pedicure cleaned by spritz of alcohol then wiped off with the towel my feet were on. The girl reused them after "cleaning" to trim and clean a part she missed. These were put back in her dirty box without "recleaning." Gross, especially since she cut me twice, drawing blood. This a state violation: she used a worn and dirty nail buffer, a worn and used non-metallic nail file, and used toe separator. The nail file was tossed after it fell into the pedi-tub. The nail buffer went back into her dirty blue box and toe separator was tossed into the drawer. After she removed the her gloves so she could apply polish, I noticed her fingernails were very dirty. They were also quite sharp and she used them to hold my feet. Ow. Not only that but she wiped out the tub with a sponge with no cleanser and wiped it dry using the towel my feet were on!

On 8/20/2012, the inspector said the overall shop was dirty.

They have had past violations but there are so many salons, unless one reports an issue, they are not checked regularly.

Communication is a problem, they speak broken English... I paid 100$ for a perm yesterday, my hair didn't take well because it is "damaged" well as a "professional" hair salon they should have informed me prior to having me sit in a chair for 3hr and waste time and money for it to be more damaged, I contacted Saigon and initially it seemed as though the salon was willing to compensate and make a disappointed customer happy. I was informed to return to the salon and they'd redo my hair, of course I was not interested in causing further damage to my hair, I asked for nail job instead of more hair problems, I was sat down for a 40$ nail job, informing the employee why I was even there (compensation for my hair) he completes the nails and directs me for pedicure, the guy said they'll do feet to match my nails, I specifically stated "ok whatever you guys are going to do for me cuz (again) Im only here for my hair job frm yesterday." they sit me done and do a 40$ pedi, I was happy at this point, under the impression they were taking care of the issue. When all was done I went to front explained to them it all should be free cuz my 100 was wasted on hair yesterday, they said I have to pay for the pedi. I was informed to speak with manager, where she argued with me in middle of salon, saying she offered only nail set. - It was a miscommunication problem on her employees end, he should of never offered more service free, he should of verified with his boss. IDK how they do it in Vietnam but the employee should of been "discipline/ punished" for the misunderstanding NOT the customer. She took it out on me saying I needed to call someone to bring me money (I had money in the car), saying I even got an "expensive" pedi, AGAIN I was sitting there telling everyone "ITS WHATEVER YOU ALL ARE GOING TO DO FOR ME, IM NOT PAYING, ITS COMP FOR MY HAIR" - after arguing with MANAGER, in front of other customers, I reluctantly paid for the pedi which I was manipulated in to getting. I went to correct a 100$ issue and ended up paying the company More... I will never return.

Was by far the worst experience I've encountered. I went in for a pedicure and manicure, the lady doing my pedicure not once did she acknowledge me. I was sitting on the one of the chairs and the lady just told me to get off and pick up my things. I messed up my pedicure cause no one even helped me! They lady was mad and told me to sit back down and she re did my pedicure very angry! She was extremely rude! I told the manager what happened and all he could say was that he was sorry. He did not offer me a discount or anything. I told him I was very unhappy and hated the service I just had received, and he said I can't do anything about it! I told him I didn't want to pay for my pedicure and he completely ignored me and was extremely rude and disrespectful. I went in for a good service, my money's worth, and received the complete opposite!

My hairdresser was friendly and professional. She cut my long hair short in no time and in style. The price is reasonably affordable. Shampoo and haircut for 20, you can't beat that. She also made good suggestions and made no sales pitch. Her name is Judy.

NIce, Big and Interesting

I've been here one time alredy, and went again last week. Both times i was satisfied with the results. This place is very nice, and the employees really try to make you comfortable, and they are also conversational. The person at the front desk is friendly, and he jokes around a lot, and you can tell that he really tries to make all the customers happy and comfortable. When i went in there last week, right when i got in, they asked me what i needed, and offered to put up my coat, even though most of them wer busy. I cut my hair a little bit shorter, and they did it carefully, and it eneded up the way i asked them to. I also got a waxing for my eyebrows, and it was the best one i ever got, and also the cheapest one! I also looked at their catalog, and found that all of their service prices wer cheaper then other places, but they ended up looking professional and beautiful. This place shows that they really want to help you look your best, at a lower price, and also they really want to satisfy you. I also read LOVEYOU's review, and none of those things happened to me. THey were all very nice, and the manager was probably trying to make you feel better. Even though some of them are foreign and don't speak english well, they still try really hard, and do thier best work every time. Overall, i thought that this place had hard-working people that are also friendly, and the results end very nicely, with lower prices.

Yesterday I went to Saigon Hair Salon and Nail shop. It was a big place. The manager was very disrespectful and rude. Very typical no educational background and no class type of guy. The employees were not friendly to their customers. They were talking bad things about customers. Do you know why I knew about it? They thought I was Thai or Philippina, they did not expect I am Vietnamesse just like them. They were talking about me. The guy who did my manicure and pedicure, he accidently cut my thumb and it was bleeding. I called the manager guy came over and showed it to him. He tried to prevent the bleeding. He claimed himself as a Nail Doctor. What's a pathetic low life Vietnamese guy? He did not know that I work in Medical field and they have no clue that I am Vietnamese. I noticed that their nail equipments were not even sterile. Since i got cut, I was worry about the infection since they used the same equipments from one customer to another. I hope the Health Department in New Mexico should go to their shop and have an inspection. After my manicure got dry, I paid $42, $35 for both manicure and pedicure and $7 for tip. The manager asked me to give more money because New Mexico required taxes. I gave him $2 more dollar. Then he asked me how come I don't give him tip. I told him, you did not do my nail. I only gave to the guy who did my nail. He is a greedy jerk by looking at his facial structure. I was about to speak in Vietnamese to him, but then I just ignore it. It is not worth it for me to talk with those low life Vietnamese nail people. I would never recommen anybody come to this shop. All they speak is Vietnamese and pretending to be friendly to the customers. They also trying to make money from customers too. If you are non native Vietnamese, you go to this shop, watch out, they will talk bad things about you. They did not do a good job either.

Cheerful Place, Must Visit

I came to Saigon Beauty during the weekend to get a hilite and a pedicure. The front desk was friendly and asked me for a drink and set me on a spa chair right away. It felt like home, everyone kept asking to make sure I'm happy. The hilite came out great. My hair was really dark, and I wanted it blonde. It came out great. They used all the professional products, including Goldwell(which is really expensive). For all the finishing products, they had Pureology, Sebastian, you name it and they have it. To sum up the place, it was cheap, but professional, and a friendly enviroment.I absolutely love it! I highly recommend this place.
