The worst auto repair service I've ever used in 50 years. Do yourself a big favor, and avoid these people like the plague. You will have to take your car to another service center just to undo the damage. Believe me!

Provided by DexKnowsTook my car here because it was having a cold start. Charged me $2,000 to fix it. I picked the car up, and it still had a cold start. Brought the car back and was told it was another problem that would cost $600.00. I don't know if they did anything the initial time, and I will never bring my vehicle back here again. My family is having to eat rice and beans to pay for the $2,000 bill which is just pocket change to the people at Foreign Aide.

Provided by DexKnowsOur car had been running rough so we took it in and it wasn't getting the correct amount of gas to the engine. They fixed the problem and now the car runs great!

Provided by DexKnowsI recently became the owner of a 63 VW baja bug. When I first bought the bug I wasn't sure who to take to for repairs and I wanted the VW to be looked over so I'd have piece of mind that it was in good working order. A friend told me about this shop and I must say I've been nothing but impressed! Paul, Debbie and the rest of the team are honest and do a phenomenal job. I even think the prices are very reasonable compared to other shops. The follow up by the team is great and they've done a great job on my bug. If you have a vintage or newer VW, this is the place to go! I would highly recommend this place to family and friends.

Provided by DexKnowsThese guys worked on my GTI. I had wiring/fuel problems that were well out of my scope of mechanics. They managed to complete the very tedious and difficult task of tracing down every wire, finding the shorts and replacing them. They also fixed my fuel injection. They are awesome with VW's. I see a lot of reviews saying they drove off only to have the same problem come back. People, there are a ton of variables that can cause the same problems with your car, some are not apparent until other problems are fixed. Anyway when you give these guys some time and build a good rapport with them and your car and they do excellent work. Thanks guys.

Provided by DexKnowsTypically, i order all my parts from out of state, but when in a pinch for a part i resort to here locally. Prior to driving all the way across town i called to make sure they had the part i was looking for. Long story short, the guy on the phone argued with me about the parts i needed, explained how he has done this for 30 years and that I was wrong! Im not one to typically argue, so i tried again to explain what i needed, exact size (in this case chrome lug nuts M14x1.50 long style) and at that point the guy became confrintational! Not exactly "Top Notch" customer service. From now on ill stick to General Parts down the street!

Provided by DexKnowsI do my own work, just get the parts here. Never a problem. I think the whiners in the other posts need to consider the possibility that attitude received is dependent on attitude shown, and adjust their own attitudes.

Provided by DexKnowsTook my 1998 VW Jetta to see if they could reset the adaption. I was told if it wouldn't hold that I would need a throttle body which would cost 339.90 for a rebuilt one plus 127.50 for labor. The car ran great before I took it in it. The initial problem was that it wouldn't pass the emissions test. Once the mechanic had tried to reset the adaption it wouldn't hold. This car ran like a champ before I took it into have it checked. I hadn't driven that car for ten minutes before it started stalling. I took the car back to Foreign Aid and told the female at the counter that the car started stalling and the idle probably needed to be set a little higher. She said the they couldn't do that because they didn't have the diagnostic equipment to do that. I left angry. It kept getting worse, I went back and the person that I spoke to said that it needed the particular part, along with he didn't know what to tell me. That car ran great before they tried to rip me off for more money.

Provided by DexKnowsPaul has been able to answer all my questions about my 2003 Passat 1.8T since I started taking it there 4 years ago. They did timing belt work, brakes, gaskets, and most recently checked the valve cover for possible sludging to help me decide whether I should trade the car in as I am buying a new one soon. It is an expensive car to maintain but Foreign Aide is always cheaper than the dealer and Paul has even gone out to look under the hood when I havejust dropped in with a question about a smell or noise or when the CEL is on. He gives me good advice, and I believe he is sincere when he says something needs to be fixed because sometimes he says that a certain thing can wait.I will keep the car and continue to use Foreign Aide.

Provided by DexKnowsThis place sucks. Sure the parts. The people who run this place are arrogant people who give the wrong advice for minimal stuff. i find if i'm paying for a part or the car is being worked on you should be thankful that i'm even droping coin at your joint. anyways beware of these idiots.

Provided by DexKnowsI took my '63 beetle to them and asked them to replace the motor. thought it could never be made to run right. Paul called me the day after I dropped it off and told me the motor didn't need replacing, but for about the same price, they could fix just about everything else that was wrong with it (and there was a lot wrong with it). They did an incredible job and I couldn't be happier. I'm writing this review because of a few reviews I saw where people seem to have expected miracles for small change. These guys (and gal) care as much about your car as you do from what I can tell.
