Banfield called today and completely fixed the issue that I had with their wellness plan and the way it was renewed. Most businesses this size wouldn't bother. Thank you so much!!! I really appreciate the time you took to resolve this. Very happy :)

I took my long-haired chihuahua to the Banfield Clinic when she was just 6 weeks old to get her shots. I expected that the needles would not be huge since she was just a puppy and expected just one. Instead, Dr. Blackstone had laid out two huge (circumference) needles. I had misgivings about this but held my puppy so he could administer the shots. He administered them one after another even though she immediately cried loudly. When he finished, she crawled up to my neck and cried loudly and plaintively in my ear. I tried to console her, but when we got home, she laid almost without moving for 2 weeks. Her back was so sore she cried whenever we tried to pick her up. I went to a different vet for her followup shots. He had one small needle and was very gentle. She didn't even whimper. That tells me this man has no clue about treating animals humanely. I would never recommend him to anyone. He did apologize after hurting her so bad.

This is in response to the 2 previous duplicate reviews. We were blamed for causing a cherry eye on the Roberts' dog, Nitro. We removed a cancerous mass from his forehead. Nitro would not leave the surgery site alone and would not leave an e-collar on. The only alternative was a head bandage. Nitro was so spastic that it took 4 of our staff members to get it on. Even this bandage was pawed and scratched at aggressively by Nitro. We use bandages like this frequently for dogs and have never seen it cause a cherry eye. Cherry eye is a genetic problem in which ligaments that hold the third eyelid gland in are not strong enough. Allergies, eye infection, and any kind of trauma will easily cause this gland to prolapse. It usually doesn't respond without surgery. Unfortunately, the Roberts' failed to acknowledge the problem of Nitro's behavior of being rowdy and not leaving e-collars and bandages alone. His constant rubbing and scratching his entire face and head is the trauma that caused the cherry eye! There is no way in hell I was going to try anything else with Nitro. If anyone tries surgery to fix Nitro's cherry eye, watch out because Nitro will likely rip out his whole damned eye during the recovery period! Will they blame the vet for that also?

We took our Pit Bull to them for a lump on the right side of his face and after a few visits and using some topical ointment that didn't work, Dr. Blackstone recommended to surgically remove it. We went with his $225 suggestion. We took him home still bleeding through the wrap around his head. After a day of looking and smelling this dried bloddy wrap we took it off to re-wrap it with clean bandages, but couldn't find anything to work. Banfield said to bring him in and they will do it at no charge...I though that was nice. But, when they wrapped his head this time it was so tight our dog looked like a Shar pei. Well, rather than drive back I just cut some of the wrap off so he could open his eyes, by the next day we thought this is not right. So we took him back and when another Dr. looked at him she came out of the back and said could I leave him for a few hours to make sure his fine? I said ok and when I went to pick him up he had no bandages just a cone around his head, but that was not the problem...his left eye had a red boil (they call it "Cherry Eye") they gave us some drops (at no charge) and said this will help.



We take our dog in to have a tumor removed and they give us another issue to deal with. They know they were responsible for hurting his eye, but would only offer free eye drops.



I had to rate them 1star because there is no 1/2 star rating. I should have checked out Banfield complaints on www.complaintsboard.com before ever going there!
