The Stanly County Department of Social Services is a public service agency that offers various programs and services to the residents of Stanly County in North Carolina. It protects disabled adults from abuse, neglect and exploitation and provides placement assistance for elderly adults who require placement into adult care homes and intermediate and skilled care facilities. The department s guardianship services include exploring alternatives to guardianship; initiating and participating in court proceedings; participating in multidisciplinary evaluations as ordered by the court; and carrying out guardianship responsibilities when the director is appointed as guardian.
