Patrick Burns is a lifelong pathological criminal. He was convicted of abducting a woman from a Dunkin Donuts in Delmar and she managed to get away. He has many drug and burglary convictions. He smooth talks law enforcement and also serves as an �informant� throwing those he uses to commit his crimes into jail when he doesn�t feel like paying them or they tell him no. He damaged my home and has been spotted outside of my home with multiple men who try to get in. He caused a lot of destruction to the house. This �contractor� is in fact just a �con� who will tear up your home, walk off the job with your money and continue to target you, including attempts to kidnap and kill you. I�ve experienced all of these things. I hope this review really helps someone out. He�s on parole right now. Avoiding Patrick Burns and 1ProNY will be the best thing you�ve ever done in your life. He is a psychopath predator.

Patrick Burns is the Owner and GC of “1Pro NY” near Albany, NY. He is a bully. He is a con-man. He is dangerous.

Here is how Patrick Burns swindle works:

First, he fills the web with fake positive reviews about himself and his work.

Second, he tells you what you want to hear and claims he does not ask for any money up-front until the work is performed and milestones are reached.

Third, he gets you committed by having you purchase materials and/or give him a deposit. He may or may not have a contract (which he will ignore later).

Fourth, once you’re committed, he will begin to tell you, every time he is on site, how much more challenging the work is than initially expected, how much more it is costing him in labor and materials, and how lucky you are that he is on the job to help you. He is starting to make you feel dependent on him and set the stage for asking for more and more money up front, in advance of work milestones being completed.

Fifth, once you have given him more of your money, have ordered more fixtures and finishes and you are more financially invested in him and your project, he will begin to insist that you give him even more money in order for him to continue working. If you express any kind of resistance or dissatisfaction, he will get violent and belligerent.

Sixth, he will do just enough work to show some progress and he will continue to ask for money every week and threaten to walk off the job unless he is paid. If you point to the contract he will say he is not bound to follow the contract.

Seventh, he will shake you down and threaten you and take as much of your money as possible before walking off the job.

He does this over and over again with multiple homeowners. That’s his hustle. He has no intention of actually completing the job. He will do just enough to keep you on the hook, coercing you to pay him more money until you figure out his game. At that point he will simply walk away with all your money and leave your home looking like a bomb exploded.

I've read other negative reviews that discuss public records revealing that Patrick Burns has a long line of arrests and convictions for criminal behavior, including burglary and illegal drugs.

Run, don’t walk, away from Patrick Burns. He is a dangerous man.

I've seen many other victims of Patrick Burns post reviews online and it has given me courage to also speak out. Patrick Burns is a thief, plain and simple. He seemed knowledgeable and experienced at the initial meeting and the follow up meeting. He assured me he doesn't ask for any money in advance but rather only accepts payments as work gets completed. However, after the first week of a very messy and unprofessional demolition in which many original features of the home were damaged beyond repair by Patrick and his crew, he pressured me to give him a large sum of money. When I reminded him that he said he would only accept payments in stages as work was completed, and tried to point out the items that were damaged, he exploded into a violent rage, screaming that he was going to take all his tools and leave my home in the demolished condition which he and his crew had created. His crew, who were present, just stood by quietly. (More on this later.) I felt so physically threatened and in actual and real danger for my life, that I wrote him a check, as I needed to de-escalate the immediate situation. After Patrick and his crew left, I went to the police and reported the incident. Police were hesitant to file a report but advised that I tell Patrick that I changed my mind about using him as a contractor. By the time I went to the bank to stop the check, Patrick had already cashed it. I realized that his crew, who quietly stood by while watching Patrick violently threaten me, are either complicit or apathetic. Either way it is clear that this, for them, is business as usual. Disgusting. Someone should do something to stop Patrick Burns from taking advantage of more homeowners. I now know that his "good" reviews and references are fraudulent. He gets his co-conspirator crew and friends to write fake reviews and take reference calls.
