South Jefferson Rescue Squad is a volunteer ambulance corps that has been providing ambulance transportation services to the residents of southern Jefferson County, N.Y., since 1969. It provides health- and safety-related community training and services. The organization is certified by the state of New York as a paramedic ambulance service provider. South Jefferson Rescue Squad offers home safety inspection and blood pressure screening services. It provides the Packet of Life Registration program that includes medication information papers of individuals for emergency cases. The organization has a team of emergency medical technicians who provide medical services related to basic life saving, oxygen administration, splinting of suspected fractures and spinal immobilization. South Jefferson Rescue Squad is located in Adams, N.Y.
