Tucson Quick Guide
Tucson is surrounded by canyons and beautiful mountain ranges. Along with picture perfect desert sunsets, temperate climate, and a rich mix of cultures, it's no wonder that Tucson is considered by many to be among the best places to live and work in the country.
In addition to the blend of Native American, Spanish and Mexican cultures found here, as well as the city's ties to the Old West, today's Tucson is a center for astronomy and space exploration, which is reflected in the variety of companies and agencies located here, including IBM, Intuit and Raytheon Missile Systems.
Tucson's economy is driven by aerospace, education, electronic equipment, government, high technology, international trade, optical manufacturing, and tourism.
Tucson's city hall is located at 225 W. Alameda. The mayor's office is located here, as well as several other city offices departments. Residents are encouraged to contact the city's Information Line by calling (520) 792-CITY (792-2489) for help with community issues and to find other departments that are located throughout the city.

Though there are many places in the city where you can take a trip back in time for a taste of the past, Tucson has come a long way since its Old Pueblo days. Still, the pristine beauty of the desert landscape lends itself well to outdoor activities that run the gamut from hiking to horseback riding and everything in between.
There are well over 100 parks in or near Tucson, from small city parks to wide open spaces such as the Coronado National Forest, home to some of the best bike trails in all of the United States.

Things to Do in Tucson
Tucson has a history as rich as the mix of cultures represented here, and one of the best places to see a representation of both is the Arizona Historical Society Museum which features interactive displays and exhibits that tell the story of the city's past.
Another place to see history in action is the Old Tucson Studios. In addition to exhibits and tours, visitors can enjoy carnival games, pony and stagecoach rides, all in an authentic setting.
Tucson also has an active performing arts community. The Arizona Opera was founded in Tucson in the early 1970s and maintains an active performance schedule, as does the Tucson Symphony Orchestra.
Looking for a little more action? Head over to Tucson Electric Park for an Arizona Diamondbacks game.
