Seattle Quick Guide
Seattle is home to a good number of corporate success stories, including outdoor outfitters Eddie Bauer and REI, Starbucks, and Amazon.com, and it could be said that the variety found in those companies represents the varied lifestyles enjoyed by the locals: outdoorsy and entrepreneurial, rugged yet literate.
Seattle's economy is driven by aerospace, bioinformatics, computer software, electronics, environmental engineering, genomics and medical equipment. In addition to being a great place to do business, visitors will find that the city's cultural scene is vibrant and diverse, with resident symphony, opera and ballet companies drawing national acclaim.
The Seattle City Hall is located at 600 4th Ave. Residents are encouraged to call the city's Citizen's Service Bureau at 684-CITY (2489) to get help with problems, file complaints or obtain information about city departments and services.

Where to Go in Seattle
While it's true that life in Seattle can be a bit damp, its reputation as the wettest city in the United States is something of a misnomer. In fact, the climate here lends itself well to a variety of outdoor activities that can be enjoyed in any number of natural venues.
The Seattle area boasts several of the most beautiful national parks and pristine public lands in the world, including the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area; Mount Rainier National Park; Mount St. Helen's National Volcanic Monument; North Cascades National Park; and the Olympic National Park and Rainforest.
Things to Do in Seattle
Thanks to grunge, guitars and Sub Pop Records, Seattle has cemented its place in rock 'n' roll history. The Experience Music Project at Seattle Center celebrates music of all eras and genres, and provides visitors with opportunities to learn about American music through "interactive and interpretive exhibits."
But perhaps the best venues Seattle has to offer are those created by nature. There's virtually no limit to the number and variety of outdoor activities you can enjoy here on a year-round basis, including kayaking and river rafting, skiing and snowboarding.
