St. Louis Quick Guide
St. Louis holds an important place in the nation's history as the site of the 1904 World's Fair, held to honor the 100th anniversary of the westward expedition of Lewis & Clark that began here. The city's famed Gateway Arch symbolizes that westward journey and is often referred to as the gateway to the west.
Visitors will find that the city is home to many cultural attractions - many of them free - including a number of museums. Be sure to visit the Science Center, Planetarium and the domed, four-story, state-of-the-art Omnimax Theater. Round out your tour with visits to the Cathedral Basilica of St. Louis, the home of Ulysses S. Grant and the Saint Louis Zoo.
Residents who need to do business with the city or find related services can visit City Hall at 1200 Market St. The facility is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.
