Fresno Quick Guide

With the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the east, and the pristine California coastline to the west, the city of Fresno and its central location in the Golden State make it ideal for the nearly 490,000 residents who call it home.

Fresno's economy once was primarily driven by agribusiness, and this industry remains strong here today as well. Many common household food brands, such as Foster Farms and Kraft, have a significant presence here. Sun-Maid Raisins got its start in Fresno in 1918, and is now headquartered in nearby Kingsburg, just over 20 miles to the southeast.

The city also gets a sizeable economic boost from education, healthcare services and government - there is an IRS office here.

Fresno's city hall is located at 2600 Fresno St. Residents are encouraged to use the city's One Call Center to obtain city information or report issues. The Fresno One Call Center can be reached by dialing (559) 621-CITY.
