Absolutely wonderful. My best friend and I stayed here while visiting colleges in Portland and had an absolutely wonderful time. Very very casual, and care free atmosphere. Every room is completely different and unique. the man at the front told my friend and i that artists around the community designed each room like a piece of art. we had a little victorian bath tub in our room as well as the most comfertable bed i've ever slept on! The employees there were exceptionally friendly. the photobooth had a wonderful antique and vintage feel. and the secrets in between the first and second floor made our stay worth it. (you wouldn't understand if I told you... you'll just have to see it yourself) I highly highly HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you appreciate art and life.
I was pleasantly surprised when I arrived here at 4:00am after a grueling drive from Southern California. The location is convenient to 405 and I-4 and other major freeways so if you are in town househunting it is a good location. The place is nestled in between semi-industrial businesses however I found the location to be as safe as anywhere else. I am a single female traveling alone with my 2 dogs and felt safe during my entire 5-day stay. There is free high speed internet as well as fax and computer services with breakfast. And La Quinta is synonymous with pet-friendly accommodations which is the main reason I chose this place! Large grass area for dogs and there were several dogs in addition to mine.
This has to be one of the best values for lodging in the metro area. We had a large room with king bed and patio door as well as the inside corridor entry. Exceptionally clean and quiet, the stay included a full breakfast prepared to order. If you qualify, take advantage of their Veteran rates. Even if that's not the case, the place is a bargain for all it offers. Don't believe me? Just ask my dogs. They too were truly impressed.
