I hate to write about anything, but I saw 2008 rev. W/1star. I live on the far e.side Tucson where the old MeiHon used to be. I was crushed when it closed a few yrs. ago, as I didn't know their original location was on Irvington. Found Mei Hon two days ago accident. I'm home!! I got there @8:55pm on a MONDAY! They close@9:00pm, I'm thinking end of night I was sure I was getting left-overs. No way! My food was so hot, I couldn't hold the bag. O M G, my House Lomein, House Fried Rice, Egg Flower Soup, and Won Ton Soup were SLAMMIN! Just completely off the hook. I mean the food actually was actually flavorful, and I had so much meat in my dishes, almost every if not every bite had meat and they weren't chincy with the shrimp. Everything was authentic with the right and appropriate ingredients for Chinese. They weren't being lazy and use less or even leave out ingredients, trying to pass it off as Chinese when its actually mixed up and made with Thai or whatever ingredients like some places. I have been to nine Chinese rest. In my area alone From Broadway/C.Seco to Harrison to Houghton to Golf Links to Craycroft in my area. Th. at don't include Speedway-UA or N.West areas. All those restaurants need to come here so they understand what a great restaurant is=Awesome food, made fresh and hot, with the right ingredients, with super huge portions, killer prices for what you get, and last that A+ make you feel like family service. They were super nice and friendly. I finally found my home. Their is one other Chinese rest., on 22nd/Kolb that's ok, but they ain't nothing like Mei Hon so they ain't getting my biz except if emergency in case Mei Hon isn't open or something. Otherwise I'll be back I don't care how far I drive. I ate those portions for two more days w/out griping a bit. This is why I don't write nothing-it takes to dog gone long. But I had to set the truth straight so folks don't miss out on this place cause of that review.

Whether you are new to Tucson, just passing through, staying over on business, or here on vacation, try The Panda Village Restaurant while you are here. Over the past few months I have enjoyed a dozen lunch and dinner meals at the Panda Village. The atmosphere is quiet and well lit, seating arrangements are comfortable and uncrowded, with Chinese music playing softly in the background. The service is quick, courteous and thorough, with all courses and refreshments served in a timely and friendly manner. Both the lunch and dinner menus offer the same extensive choices of meats, seafood's and fresh vegetable entrees. The lunch meal options (served from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM) come from the dinner menu (with smaller entree portions), and are offered with a choice of soups, and/or egg roll, crab puffs, and choices of steamed rice, fried rice or brown rice. Beverage is extra. The prices are very reasonable, especially considering the quality of meal ingredients, preparation, and portion sizes. You will want containers to go, just to enjoy the leftovers later. Delivery Service and Take Out are also available during business hours. Parking is ample, and seating arrangements are available for from one to eighty.
Do you ever read so many mixed reviews and are not sure who is right? Well we gave this restarant a try , we were NOT dissappointed. We tried the buffet and it was amazing! I was expecting same brown sauce spread out over several entrees. Each dish has a unique flavor. The buffet items are fresh, the veggies are not "mushy",the crab puffs are a slice of heaven, the sesame chicken is fresh chicken NOT chicken parts, just to name a few things. We have always had good service. Plates removed promptly, wait staff is courteous and friendly. The owners always make an effort to say hi and ask how things are going. We almost did not want to write a review because then we have to share the buffet and the crab puffs. As far as the Negative reviews I am at a loss. We look forward to going to China view on our date night. The decor is very tasteful by the way and CLEAN. Give it a try! you will love it!!
