I've been to been to several PT clinics and can tell you that Atlas stands out. They provide topnotch personalized, professional care. It's refreshing to find folks who really want to help. Why Atlas? - It's NOT part of a big corporation or owned by the treating doctor. Atlas is locally, privately owned by Vicky L. Bledsoe, PT, LAT and Toni Wagner, a safety and occupational health specialist. They are extremely competent, professional, friendly, and genuinely interested in helping you meet your goals as quickly and painlessly as possible. - Vicky worked closely with my doctor throughout treatment, making adjustments along the way to keep treatment on track, making the most of each visit. She shares observations with the doctor that can't observed during a 10-15 minute office visit. Other clinics only sent progress notes every 4-6 weeks, using up allowed visits. - Toni is fabulous at navigating the insurance maze. She helped me to understand my benefits, made sure there were no surprises, and saved me hours and hours of insurance hassle. - PT can be awkward and painful. Vicky immediately puts you at ease, making the work fun. She does everything she can to minimize your discomfort. - Vicky has eyes in the back of her head, noticing the slightest wince, falter, gate change, or instability. She knows exactly how far you can push without hurting yourself. Vicky does a superb job of monitoring your activity and progress. Bottom line: I won't go anywhere else.

From Business: Our therapists are here to alleviate every ache, pain or stress — no matter how small — because we agree on one thing: The good life should actually feel that way.
I was looking at having a spinal cord stimulator as my last option to help with the low back pain...this after the two surgeries that fused the vertebrate which no longer had anything resembling a disk and countless other procedures from 'injecting the joints' to 'killing the nerves'. I'd been through it all, tried just about every therapy available and was looking at either the stimulator or continued drug therapy. I was already on the highest dose of opana available and filling in with other opiates 'as needed' when I was approved for the stimulator after a trial period. But I really didn't want to go that route...the surgeries didn't go well and I didn't respond positively to anything else I had done in the past, so I had a pretty bad 'gut' feeling about getting the stimulator. I had heard Pete Egoscue on the radio a few times and when I found out they had a clinic here in Austin and wrote Rick with my history and doubts, I really was down to my last option. I have been working with Theresa ever since and I haven't looked back! My only regret is that I wish I would have started with them as my first option...I honestly didn't think I would ever be able to say that I don't have pain in my back. I'm not totally pain free, but I am drug free and pain free eighty percent of the time and for me...after nearly 20 years or constant pain, I'd say that's pretty wonderful. I couldn't have done it without Theresa and everyone at Egoscue!
I traveled with my husband on business. We were on the 13th floor which is one of the Club floors, providing complimentary breakfast until 9am weekdays. I arrived shortly before 8:30, expecting a nice warm breakfast. Not only was it not warm, it was for the most part nonexistant, Only leftover cold oatmeal, some bacon and sausage, 2 crepes which looked like they'd been there for days, and box cereal. No eggs of any kind (how hard is it to hard boil or scramble a few eggs?) When I asked about eggs I was told that I'd have to order those through room service. This place makes the LaQuinta look like a million bucks. I went back to my room - it was about 9:15 - and called to set up a massage. I knew they didn't open until 10:00 by the colorful flyer on the wall in the elevator, but thought I might call anyway, and maybe get my name on the list. I got an answering machine which told me to leave my name and room number so they could call me back and confirm. So I did that. No one ever called me back. I even called again at about 11:00 and got the same message. Had I known no one would call, I'd have taken a cab to Chico's and spent my money there! Count me out of future business trips w/my husband if the assigned hotel is the Omni Austin Downtown. All this being said, your valet and front desk staff were top notch.
