I've read the other reviews for this restaurant, and I'm almost curious of the motives of the people who wrote them! I have been to Golden Chopstick a few times, and I have never had a bad experience like the others. The restaurant is always clean and looks new. The help is always... helpful, i guess. I've never ordered their entrees from the Chinese menu, I always have sushi- and it's good sushi. Their California roll is really good, everything tastes fresh, and it's even cheaper than sushi from Meijer (which is not as good, or fresh). I ordered take out just before writing this review, 2 Cali rolls. They were done in 10 minutes, wrapped really cute and scrumptious. As soon as I walked in someone helped me. I wasn't in the building more 2 minutes. The phone etiquette was trashed in another review, and it's completely ridiculous. Yes, they speak English with a bit of an accent. If you're ordering Chinese take-out, you should kind of expect it.
I have been there twice now. My husband and I liked it there so much we took our kids there the second time. Every part of our meal was hot and fresh. We split an order of the General Tso's combination dinner and ordered the chicken tenders meal for my daughter. We also sampled the Boubon chicken at both visits and found it was both hot and tender. In fairness I have not had Bourbon chicken at any other restaraunt, but I did enjoy this recipe. My husband and I also enjoyed the California rolls from the Sushi bar. My daughter and I visited the ladies bathroom and it seemed cleaner than most restaurants. The dinning room was not full but there were several seated tables. On several occasions the owner and the server both asked us about our meal. Everyone has a bad experiece at a restaurant at some point in time. I am glad that I went there before reading the first review because I would have missed out on a good meal.
I am not sure what these people are thinking with the bad reviews. My boyfriend and I love this place! It is by far our favorie Chinese restaurant in the area! The biggest plus to me is that the cicken is all white meat, and the batter is very light.(Most places you have 90% batter and a little bit of dark meat in the middle...yuck!) The restaurant is very clean and very beautiful on the inside. I have tried the sesame chicken and the almond chicken. Both excellent. Along w/ the egg rolls and won ton soup. And if you like sushi....you got to try it! They have a sushi bar with some of my favorite rolls (California roll & Shrimp tempura roll) Very reasonably priced, and you get tons of food!!! I highly recommend Golden Chopsticks!
