My best friend and I decided it was time to take a concealed carry course. We both grew up in gun owning homes and were familiar with handling firearms. We had researched several companies before deciding upon this one. When my friend told me that the course was taught by former Marines, I knew we would be learning from the best! Not to mention, they are also NRA certified. Keep that in mind when you are looking for a course. The NRA doesn't just hand out certifications to just anybody like some "online sites". After speaking with the owner, Sgt. Kim Rodecker, I knew we had made the right choice. He was friendly and informative and explained in detail what we had to do before we even took the course. He also offered a discount since we were taking the course together. He provided us with all the material we needed before, during and after the course. Now don't go in expecting Sgt. Carter. He won't call you a moron or make you do push-ups. LOL! The class is long but he offers plenty of breaks. I also like that fact that he demonstrates hands on (gotta love the “props”!). It's one thing to read something in a book and another to see how it is done in person. He also gave us a list of places that had the best prices for purchasing firearms, ammo and accessories. The range day was the day I looked forward to the most. It was very well organized and we were one on one with the instructors (U.S. Marines of course). I really liked the fact that I got the instructor all to myself. They were very patient with everyone they instructed. They weren't all "Booyah" if you know what I mean! They also stressed the importance of safety and did a superb job at keeping everyone safe. I would also like to mention that this is not a "boy's club". Everyone is treated equally. In fact, they actually boost your confidence level. Maybe it was because I got to shoot the "big gun"--now that's a confidence booster in itself! In closing, I would like to add that he doesn't just "pat you on the head and send you on your way" after you have finished his course. If you give him your email, he will keep you up to date on not only what is going on with upcoming courses but what is going on involving gun related issues and our government. I look forward to taking his advanced courses. I highly recommend this course. You won't be disappointed. JOIN THE NRA!
I wanted to let everyone know how good these guys are! I grew up in a gun owning home. I took a gun safety course, was a member of the NRA and went hunting when I was younger. On a side not a safety course I recommend to anyone. However, I wanted to take a CCW course. I checked out a few int he area. From being put off because I was a woman, to finding that the personality of the instructor to the times the courses were offered just did not fit. I found that Concealed Carry Courses was the best one for me. After speaking with the instructors, their confidence level boosted my confidence level. The options of the one on one classes, evenings, weekends, the one on one attention that was offered made me make the decission to go with Concealed Carry Courses. When I took the class the instructors were wonderful. I loved the fact that they worked one on one with me. Kim and Ron, made sure that I knew all the material, where to find the resources for staying up to date on my rights, they went over the material thuroughly, made sure that I know what ammo to buy and when to use it. They made sure that we all knew that this is what we wanted to do and the fact that they stressed " always try to walk (or Run) away before resorting to the use of a weapon was the most important. Mark worked with me on the range to make me confidient when firing my weapon. He made sure that I understood everything there was to know about my gun. He helped me with my shooting options, the correct posture, how to aim, where I wanted my shots to hit. He was the bomb! He spent the time with me to make sure that if I was ever in a situation that I truly had to use my weapon that I was able to handle it correctly. They even went one step farther by offering to go with me when purchasing a gun and have said they will even go back to the range and shoot with me so I keep up on practicing. They Have truly taken the time and have made every effort possible to make sure that I did not get some "puppy mill trainning". They went out of there way to make sure that every question was answered and that everyone had the best trainning possible for the price we paid for attending the class. Thank you Mark, Ron, and Kim for offering the CCW class. Again you are all the bomb! Sincerely, Kim L, and Eric R.
Last weekend I completed my ccw training and WOW what a awesome experience! I chose too go with this class because it is owned and operated by Marines, I wanted to take my class with instructors i would trust and be safe with, and who better then Marines! I picked up my books and tests to take home and get ready for my 10 hour class, the books had so much info in them but i got my test and reading done. I went to my 10 hour class, it was a long day, but i was never bored there is so much information to learn and sarg (Mark) kept it interesting the whole time. I knew nothing about guns and have never even shot a gun in my life, so after my ten hour course with sarg and kim i felt i had recieved all the information i needed about guns and of course how to be safe with your gun. I couldnt wait to go to the range with kim, sarg and there other instructors!! So i went to the range last saturday, i bought a 9mm with me to take my test with. When we got to the range there were about thirty of us ready to take our test. I took my test with one of there very professional instructors, he also answered the questions i had about my shooting to the right on the target, since then i have no problems hitting my target! I passed my test and waited till everone else finished there test for free range time. Safety at the range is the most important to the instructors, at no point did i feel unsafe at any time. After everyone completes there shooting test, there is free range time, so many people brought there "toys" with them. I got to see some amazing guns, one guy even brought a 50 caliber desert eagle! WOW this gun is amazing, Kim asked me if i would like to shoot this gun. I only have shot a gun 4 times in my life and i have been shooting a 9mm! So I couldnt pass up the opportunity to shoot this gun, Sarg took me to the firing line he made sure I was in the right position, and that i was hloding the gun correctly, and I fired the shot, WOW was that so cool. I got to shoot the worlds largest handgun, and no I didnt hit myself in the face, I had the best instructors in the world right next to me making sure I was safe. So too anyone considering taking a CCW class, there is no where better than Kim Rodeckers and Mark Kings classroom! Thank you Sarg and Kim you guys are the BEST!
