We live in a culture where so much of our priorities and values systems are geared around money... But it is refreshingly obvious when you walk in this business and interact with any of the employees that the relationship comes first and each individual is committed to your happiness and that the financial gain is just the byproduct of the service and rates below and 2nd to the trust gained and earned with the commitment to the relationship coming1st which is priceless in this day and age... There used to be a saying why complain it doesn't get me anywhere but as I mentioned before our culture has change and enables the people that are the problem so I decided to change because a satisfied customers actions speak louder than words.... So let's add some words to the actions because anyone can complain but very few people want to tell the truth because of their own fears and insecurities... The cup is half full and a lot of these reviews come from people that are half-empty I know a lot of the people to this business personally I've had my haircut by Nancy Nikki Kanoa Luanne and they are all efficient and have different personalities the only differences same result with their own special touch I've had my eyebrows waxed tonica Amy is awesome too I am been welcomed graciously by Ashley the receptionist and have always been treated with respect by the owner John... To this group it is not just a job this is a calling for them and if they weren't getting paid to do this it would be their hobby and very obvious if you spent a little or a lot of time with these people... And if you take time to get to know them like I know them u will realize that they are humanbut most important get to know their heart and their character which is seem superhuman compared to customer service today which really sucks... So become part of the family put the relationship first because the money comes second get to know these people I endorse them and they will bring the best out of you inside and out...lol pun intended:-)
Normally I go to Dupre's, however, they were all booked on the Saturday I had free to have my hair re-colored and cut so I called "Hair We Are". Upon my arrival I was greeted with friendly faces and was asked if I'd like anything to drink. Check in was simple. My stylist (Lilian) was extremely outgoing and a pleasure to have. I couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome of my hair and the relaxed, but family friendly atmosphere. Customers were coming in with their children of all ages, customers of all backgrounds even. I was very pleased seeing as normally I felt I had to be "dressed to impress" each time I went to Dupres. It felt like a down home, good, relaxing, come as you are, place. My appointment was at 2, but I did not get finished until about 530. (My hair was a wreak) My stylist said she got off at 5 and was going out of town that evening, however, did not give me that "let's hurry up and get this over with" feel at all. She made me feel like I came first, which I appreciate! (being in the customer service field myself, I know how important it is to make the customer feel that way and she A'ced it!) The turn out of my hair was hands down the BEST I've ever seen it! AND it was about $150 cheaper than I paid at the previous salon I went to!!!! Granted, at the old salon, I felt they pressured me into purchasing something each and everytime I went in, which I caved into doing. That could have led to a larger bill a bit.... All in all, I will stick with Lilian at Hair We Are and recommend her and this salon to everyone I know! YOU WILL NOT REGRET THIS PLACE!
I have been living in Va Beach for about 4 years. About a month ago I was on my way to Radio Shack ( in the Haygood Shopping Center) when I saw The Image hair salon. I really needed my hair to be colored but I was afraid due to my last experience at a different salon. When I walked into The Image I was greeted by a very nice and professional lady( I found out later that she was the manager). I told her about my past experience getting my hair colored at a different salon. She listened to everything I said with concern. She took time to explain to me the history of this salon and the experience of all of the stylist, which I thought was amazing that this small business had been in business for over 20 years and that all of the stylist had been working in this salon for 10 years plus, with two of the stylist being there for over 20 years. That was amazing to me . Not too many small businesses have been known to make it this long and especially having 13 loyal stylists for over 10 years. Wow, they are doing something right and I really wanted to be apart of this. She asked one of the stylist to speak to me about my hair. wow, unbelievable, this stylist (Stella) was amazing. She made me feel very comfortable and told me not to worry she will make sure my hair will turn out the way I wanted and it would not get damaged. She was very patient with me. The entire time I was in her chair I felt like a queen. Thank you, I love my hair .
