Since having to go on a gluten-free diet I have been on the search for a GOOD gluten-free pizza. One would be surprised just how hard it is to find gluten-free pizza! Now to make it even harder - I have to be gluten/corn/dairy-free!! (yes - it's HORRIBLE) The other day though my husband and I were next door to Ledo's and I was so hungry - and I said "let's just see if there's any chance that they might have a gluten-free pizza". So we stopped in and ohmygoodness - they did!! - and the crust is also corn& dairy-free for those that need to watch that too. We ordered one for Take-Out. We ordered a Pepperoni gluten-free crust pizza to try with goat cheese and we INHALED it!! It was wonderful! The sauce is ... perfect! I'm picky about sauce - I like flavor and I like a sauce I can see - and this just does it for me. :) We came back the following week because we still had the flavor of pizza in our mouths - wanting more .... and this time we dined in. We ordered 2 gluten-free pizzas. One with the Italian chicken sausage & goat cheese and red onions. And the other with pepperoni & goat cheese. Both were delicious. I must also comment on the owners and staff ... the girl that served us was so friendly. The owners too - both times we have been there, they have been there and they have opened the doors for us, greeted us and were so helpful with answering questions about gluten-free and everything. If you are in a wheelchair - just know that it IS a tight space but they are helpful in moving tables and helping you get through to the bathrooms, etc. If you want to watch the soccer games going on too - they have a nice big screen tv with the games going on - but the tv isn't so loud that it is disruptive to your meal.
I'm a pizza snob. There is no better crust. No better sauce and no better combination than the spinach and pepperoni pizza at Armand's. I remember as a kid going to Armand's near Tenley Circle. The lines would be wrapped around to Maggies Pizza (which had no line at all). There would be a manager that would take the order in line so that the pizza was being prepared and cooked while I was out in line. The weather did not matter. Our pizza was on the table when we arrived at our table right after our beverage was placed. Those guys were incredible and still are. My wife and I make it a point to get a heart shaped pizza with spinach and pepperoni every Valentine's Day. Did I mentioned that the owner was the YoYo champion twice and many decades apart. Well that's what I think.
Today Saturday I ordered a large pizza and wings I track my order just too see the if it was correct and it was when it told me the drivers name and that he had left within 5 mins I had him knocking on the door !!! Great job
