My wife and I were searching for a place for a Sweet 16th party and came across The Black Pearl Bar & Grill at 833 Union Street, Brooklyn, NY. What we discovered was this rich cozy Tuscany atmosphere with a long bar with a brick oven. We were warmly greeted by Maitre Damiano who made us feel at home. He suggested the arugula salad with walnuts and goats cheese which was delicable. On the table was a generous portion of focaccia with brushetta from their brick oven which I could not stop eating. Next was a very huge plate of lobster Bisque which I may add is one of my favorites. Next we tasted Lobster Ravioli in a cream sauce which was awesome. Followed was a huge zesty tangy crab cake over a bed of vegetables. As you can see I like to eat and have a passion for food. The wines are excellent as well as the beer on tap. Needless to say after this sumptuous meal and meeting with our Host Rob we did book the Sweet 16 party. This is an excellent place for dinners & parties. There are 2 parking lots, one a few doors down the other across the street. This indeed is the best kept secret in Brooklyn, but not for long.
Came here one fateful night with some girlfriends on a whim in order to get out of Manhattan and get a taste of Brooklyn. So happy we wandered into Bembe. I hate those Friday nights where you are all excited to get out after a long week and after getting dressed up, waiting in line, paying way too much for a few drinks, and feeling miserable in your high heels you go home disappointed. This was a refreshing change to the usual nights out in Manhattan! I loved the laid-back, chill atmosphere and the music had me dancing like a free spirit! And they had all these fun drinks that were really cheap! I was drinking something made with fresh watermelon... I came back a few weeks later with a group of friends and had a really great time the second time around. Despite the distance, it is definitely worth it for several hours of relaxed abandonment!
I just saw this listing here on yp.com and ran over there. This used to be another place and boy have the new owners changed the reputation. Great food, even better drinks. If you like all you can eat 5 star Brazilian Food, you have to drop in here for dinner. Call them up and reserve a booth, youll love it, other wise enjoy the center dining roomwith the flat screen playing everything you want. I even heard the nightclub is fancy and exquisite. Do the pre-fixe, you wont be sorry.
