I've been a regular customer at this salon since I moved to the area few years ago. All the ladies are super flexible and very nice! I work late and need to do my mani pedis before I go away for the weekend, but they will stay after closing hours to do the job. I also love getting my pedis here since my favorite masseuse, Theresa (ask for her if you like getting massages) will give awesome foot massages, and puts me to sleep! They also renovated this place recently so it's a plus. They do get very busy at times, so I can see why the other reviewers were unhappy. One time, I had to come back and tell the ladies that my color didn't look right on my feet, and they redid my toes without charging me. I've been to many other salons in and outside the city, but I really don't think their prices are outrageous. I just paid about $45 (without tip) at a local salon in DE (this is the state that's known to be cheap with everything!). I am happy to recommend this place to my friends and other people.
Just went for the first time, had never been but needed a place by the office for a quick manicure. Conveniently located, up a flight of stairs in between restos (took me a minute to find the entrance), went in at 3:30pm on a weekday so I missed the lunch rush. Max did my basic manicure, was a perfectionist and am very pleased with the manicure i got. The price was very good - $10.50 - and the place seemed very clean and nicely appointed. They had drying machines that looked fairly new and big cushy-looking massage chairs for people getting pedicures, decent selection of Opi and Essie nail polishes. My only complaint was they don't use hot steamed towels to wipe your hands during your manicure, just paper towels - and the salon is painted in a light and dark shade of orange with light green trim - quite ugly colors. But for the price, quality of service, and proximity to the office, I think this is quite a good option in the area and will definitely be back the next time I need an emergency mani!
These 5 stars are for Erica because she does everything so well! She's my favorite. I am always satisfied when she takes care of my services and I leave as a very happy person! The store is pretty clean and recently renovated. I've read some reviews about walk-ins not being tended to but I think that's because of the lack of staff in this store. I've been a frequent here for years to know that the boss is just never around and I know who the manager is but she really doesn't act like one. Therefore, the employees need to do everything on their own so it makes it hard for them. Erica especially, is the one who's helping everyone out and trying to make sure everything goes well all around but she can only do so much. Over all, getting beautified here can be a good experience if you call ahead and be a little patient.
I had a really good experience here - came in for leg and underarm wax, decided to get a pedicure as well. Everyone was extremely professional - the pedicure was very thorough (especially at the price) and included extensive cuticle work. The waxing took a fairly long time but got every last hair, didn't leave any sticky waxy residue, and included a short but pleasant leg massage. Whilst I was sitting under the toenail dryer the lady gave me the most amazing neck massage so I promptly shelled out another $10 for a ten-minute back massage, they angled the back massage chair so I could keep my nails under the dryer, and it was absolutely heavenly. I will definitely be back!
I work in the area and decided to get a pedicure on my lunch break. I was incredibly relaxing, and they didn't rush me in and out. I live in NJ, so I thought the pedi would be super expensive, but it was only a couple bucks more that what I pay at my salon at home; and I would say the pedicure lasted around 30 or 40 minutes (longer than my usual place in NJ)! Including a really nice quiky foot and leg massage (also an added service that my regular place doesn't provide). When I sat at the dryer the pedicurist gave me a quick neck rub. Its a perfect lunch time "vacation".
I was staying nearby and needed something close and, hopefully, reasonably priced. The concierge directed me to this little shop around the corner and it was exactly what I needed. Very small space, but well organized and they even offer chair massage. An obviously hurting female enjoyed a brief chair massage on her lunch hour while I was there and they even have hot stones. The manicurist did a terrific job salvaging one of my thumbnails that had broken into the quick, it looked perfect when she was done. All in all, I'd feel comfortable recommending this establishment.
Joey is hands down THE BEST colorist in NYC. He was the ONLY one willing to take on my unruly, frizzy, curly hair and made my hair beautiful and manageable! He welcomed the challenge and exceeded my expectations with flying colors. He tweaked my color until it was absolutely perfect, no matter how long it took and finished with a beautiful blowout. I make the trip to the upper east side now just to see him, he is the only one I will allow to touch my hair! I found my permanent colorist/hair stylist! :-)
Look no further than this salon for the Best cut of your life! I have had a lot of good haircuts but none to ever qualify as great until Maria de Los Angeles starting cutting my hair. I finally am able to say I have a hair style! I really liked my first haircut by Maria, but I have loved each and every one from that first one on. She is much more than a stylist she's a true artist. Maria brings out the best in me. Her attention to detail amazes me. So if you want style Maria is the one for you!
This is by far the best salon in the Gramercy park area if not all of Manhattan. I have tried many other salons for manicures, pedicures, waxes, and massages and all i would get was over priced mediocre work.. At Dyanna the services are A+, the staff is friendly, the place is newly renovated and chic, and the prices are the best. I would highly recommend to anyone in need of a great beauty service salon in Manhattan!! A true gem for anyone that finds it :)
I love this place. My nails have lasted over a week the few times I've been. It's new so all the equipment and the facility is clean and nice. Honestly, for the price, you can't beat it. And it's definitely better than Nailsmetic which is right down the street. I think if you're a local resident, try it out. There's absolutely nothing wrong with this place, unless you're someone that has a million problems with everything.
